These skills are not specifically covered during medical school nor often are there opportunities in the operating theatre for these skills to be demonstrated and practiced. The ethos of the Basic Surgical Skills Course is to teach the correct basic surgical techniques to instill in our residents and trainees the best habits at the beginning of the surgeon’s training. The course aims to provide an environment where surgical residents and trainees may learn these techniques. This workshop is specially designed for ENT trainees focusing on surgical skills relevant to ENT surgery. Bleeding from an operative site can be a frightening experience for the young intern.
