family has gone to
Thailand on a vacation.
There is no respite to
the law and problems in
Garo Hills, and moreover
there is a demand from
several NGOs from
Jaintia Hills to make the
Mookhep probe report
public.The Government
is yet to give any statement on why the report
cannot be made public.
One of the demands of
HNLC which called the
bandh on Monday was
the delay on the part of
the Government to make
the probe report.It is yet
to be known who the
Chief Minister has authorized to run the show during his absence.Besides
the law and order problems, there is a demand
from several quarters
including the Opposition
members to hold the elections to GHADC whose
tenure was extended
thrice for consecutive six
months.Moreover, the
GSU, South Garo Hills
has also announced night
road blockade for two
days on February 18 and
19 for their various pending demands.
‘SIT committed to find out
the truth’
Shillong , Feb 17 : Breaking silence on
the mysterious death of Sub-Inspector of
Patharkhma PJ Marbaniang, the officiating DGP SK Jain said on Monday that the
police would not succumb to any pressure as far as the investigation into the
matter is concerned.“We will find out the
truth and the investigation team is committed to find out what led to the incident”, Jain told The Shillong Times on
Monday.
According to Jain, the death of
Marbaniang was a personal loss for him.

statutory auditors of the
Bank.The Bank’s total
income for the quarter ended

2014was`14,930.7crore,as

interest income plus other

at`8,234.8crorefor the quarter
ended December 31, 2014,
an increase of 21.4%over
`6,783.0crore for the corresponding quarter of the previous year. Interest earned

crore in the quarter ended
December 31, 2013 to
`12,395.8 crore in the quarter
ended December 31, 2014,
up by 17.0%. With interest
expense increasing by 12.4%
to ` 6,695.9 crore for the
quarter ended December 31,
2014, the net interest income
(interest earned less interest
expended) grew by 23.0% to
` 5,699.9 crore from ` 4,634.8
crore for the quarter ended
December 31, 2013. Net
interest margin for the quarter
was at 4.4% as against 4.2%
for corresponding quarter
ended December 31, 2013.

India's biggest and the
first-of-its-kind

capacity solar power
plant in Tripura has
begun commercial production, an official said
Tuesday.
The state-owned North
Eastern Electric Power
Corporation (NEEPCO)
has commissioned the
solar power plant at
Monarchak in western
Tripura.
"The solar power plant
was set up at a cost of
Rs.40 crore. The entire
power from the plant
would be transmitted to
the Tripura power grid,"
NEEPCO general manager S.R. Biswas told
reporters here.
He said that to generate
power, 23,616 solar panels were integrated with
the Monarchak power
project area, where
NEEPCO has also commissioned a separate 101MW capacity power
plant.The official said:
"Following the government policy, NEEPCO
has initiated the process
to set up more and more
solar, non-conventional
and renewable power
plants in various parts of
the country."
He said the corporation
will set up a 50-MW solar
power plant in Madhya
Pradesh and a two-MW
capacity plant at Lanka in
