The Fish is the Dish Team
How to cook
1. Cut your fish up finely and
add to the mashed potato
and beaten egg.
2. Divide the mixture into 4
even sized pieces then roll
into a ball and press in to
a cookie cutter or use a
knife to shape the cake
into a star shape.
3. For best results chill in
the fridge for 30 minutes.
4. Have three seperate
dishes with flour, beaten
eggs and breadcrumbs.
For each cake, cover
in flour, then egg, then
breadcrumbs and place
on a greased baking tray
for 15–20 minutes.

How to cook
1. Remove the skin and
flake the smoked
mackerel flesh into a
bowl. Break it down
with a fork – the more
you mix it, the smoother
the pâté so if you prefer
a coarser type, go easy
with the fork.
2. Add in the crème fraîche
and mix it all up. If
your mackerel wasn't
peppered in the first
place, you might like to
add some but it should
be salty enough.

any excess mixture.

frying pan and once
hot, add the fish. Cook
for 2 minutes each
side. Remove and allow
to stand for a minute.
Do not be tempted to
overcook these delicate
fillets; they will continue
to cook once removed
from the heat.
