History
The Snow Polo tradition started in St-Moritz, Switzerland where the first tournament was
held in 1985. Counting amongst its sponsors prestigious brands such as Veuve Clicquot,
Ralph Lauren and BMW. The Snow Polo World Cup St.Moritz was and remains to this day,
one of the most exclusive events in Europe and is the highlight of the St.Moritz winter
season, attracting over 15,000 spectators in 2014. Inspired by the Swiss success, events are
now being held in Aspen, Cortina and Tianjin where crowds have been known to reach
over 10,000 people.
These events attract a very prestigious crowd and are hosted in Premium Ski Resorts
around the world. Bringing such a unique experience to Mont-Tremblant, Canada,
appeared to be a natural fit for our organizing committee. With the resort’s reputation as
one of the top ski destinations of North America, we could not think of a better place to
gather this sophisticated international crowd and introduce the locals to this incredible
sport.

2015 will be a pilot year. A first event will be held with the intention of growing the event into
a world cup scale competition as soon as winter 2016. The 2015 event will present two
teams competing for the first ever Snow Polo Tremblant champions title.

the ORGANIZERs
The promoters for this event are Herbert Ratsch of Sotheby’s International Realty Québec
HR and Marc Perrault of Landco, a company that conducted several projects in the region:
Rabaska and L'Aiglon’. They are both heavily commited and involved in Tremblant’s events
and want to endorse Snow Polo Tremblant internationally.
Herb and Marc aim to have the same success as the other Winter Polo events held in
Switzerland, the US and China. The objective is to attract followers of Polo competitions
from around the world and to entice and educate the Canadian public on this magnificent
sporting event.
For the inaugural match, the promoters expect to attract between 150 to 200 VIP attendees
and 1,000 to 3,000 free spectators. Among the expected guests many will be dignitaries,
Canadian entrepreneurs, international media, various celebrities and sponsors. The media
impact will play a key role as this will be an interesting asset for the region, both short and
long term.
By 2016, 2017 and 2018 they expect the event to become a world cup tournament with 4 to
8 polo teams participating from around the world.
This event is an extraordinary way to introduce this wonderful sport to local residents and
what better place than on majestic lac Tremblant. A parade with TOUFOU the mascot, will
take place from pedestrian village St-Bernard to Parc Plage, where the match will be held.
This first edition offers free access to spectators.
Hotel Accommodations
The Quintessence hotel will be the official hotel for sponsors and celebrities attending the
event. Polo players and their guests, charity representatives, politicians and other VIP
guests will be accommodated at the Fairmont, The Westin, Hilton & Mariott hotels. Polo
packages at the resorts will be made available to polo aficionados attending from around
the world gathering in Tremblant due to their love for this refined sport.

Organization of the Matches
This year, the event will be held over the course of a single day on Saturday, February 28th.
A parade with Toufou and the Cameron Highlanders of Ottawa Co. will take place at 12:00
in the pedestrian village St-Bernard. The inaugural match will then start at 15:00 at the parc
plage followed by the trophy presentation.
Facilities Available for VIP
A VIP marquee with bars will be set up around the Polo pitch. The Quintessence hotel will
be exclusive to VIPs and will host a maximum of 200 privileged guests for the duration of
the event. All sponsored VIP suites have loge type decks with view overlooking the
Polo pitch.
Mont-Tremblant Polo Club &
the World Polo Federation
We are now in the process of establishing the "Snow Polo Tremblant" as an organization.
The "Snow Polo Tremblant" will then be the entity that will advise the International Polo
Federation of their intention to organize a World Cup Polo event in Mont-Tremblant.
The tournament will be played according to international Polo Rules.
