Big Easy Sportsplex & Baseball Academy Junior High Baseball Team Roster: Current 7th, 8th or 9th Graders that are not playing on their school’s team Games (Schedule): Metro New Orleans 8th Grade / Junior High Baseball League. Previous Season Opponents included: Jesuit, Rummel, Brother Martin, Holy Cross, Shaw, St. Augustine and other local schools. Season Duration: March through April (same Junior High Programs) Approximately 12 games Practices: (1-2) meetings per week, held at Big Easy Sportsplex & Baseball Academy. Coaches: Brandon Rousseve (Director of Baseball Operations, Big Easy Coach 16u and 18u) and Josh Tolbert (C.O.O. of Big Easy Sportpslex) First Meeting: Thursday, February 26 6:30-7:00 PM at Big Easy Sportsplex. This meeting will introduce Coaches, address team(s) roster, schedule, finical commitment, questions of parents/players. Schools Are On Board! This program is not affiliated to any specific school. Rather, we have coordinated with local schools to develop this much needed program for kids that were unable to make a Junior High Team or their school simply doesn’t offer a Junior High Team. Your schools and your coaches have all endorsed this program and are helping to make this possible. There is still time on the clock and we all want you to persevere and play ball! Goals and Perseverance Our Mission is to simply keep you playing baseball this Spring. This is a great opportunity to play in the same league as your peers. We keep more players involved and that can only help everyone involved, including the schools. Getting cut as an 7th, 8th, or 9th Grader does not mean baseball is over...far from it! Physical Growth, Work Ethic, Perseverance, Deficiency Identification, Skills Development, and Game Speed Experience will all play roles in your evolution. Assessments, Private lessons, training programs, and video breakdown are all offered through DECEL Academy. FAQ’s Can I also play Travel Ball? Absolutely! This is a non-affiliated league / team. Who can play on this team? Any 7th, 8th, or 9th Grader that did not make his school’s team or school does not offer a team. Does everyone play? Yes this is a development team so everyone will get playing time. With that being said we will still play fun competitive baseball and play to win every game we can.
