Humility: Psalm 45:4 In your majesty, ride out
to victory, defending truth, humility, and justice.
Go forth to perform awe-inspiring deeds!
Last week students in Years 7-12 participated in
the annual House Athletics Carnival. I would like
to congratulate the students on the great House spirit that
they demonstrated and commend the Year 12 House
Captains on their excellent leadership in making this a most
enjoyable day for all students. A special appreciation to
Miss Carin Eastburn, the staff, Parents &Friends and alumni
for their contribution for a fantastic carnival. We praise God
for His protection over this event.
We appreciate the staff who are supporting this event and
please pray for God's continued protection over the group.
Yours in Christ’s Service.

P.S. I look forward to seeing you at the Parent Seminar
tonight.
INTERNATIONAL FOOD FESTIVAL
Friday 6th March 2015
The International Food Festival will be held on Friday 6 March
after school from 3.30 pm - 6.30pm.
P & F are looking for families to make food that will represent
their culture. Volunteers are also needed to assist on the day.
Please contact Mrs Carron Stephens on:
Progress on Facilities Improvement.
We are pleased to advise that the new playground
equipment for the BEAM and Navigate sub schools will be
arriving shortly. Additional lunch seating will also be
installed along the veranda which will have the advantage
of opening up an additional eating and playing area for the
children. Lighthouse Christian College would like to thank
and acknowledge the P&F network for donating $4000.00
towards this project as a result of the school banking
program and encourage all our students to take part in
school banking where they can learn fiscal responsibility
while helping the College.
In addition to these improvements the plans for the new
double storey building are underway and we expect to be
sharing them with you very shortly.
You may have also noticed on our website that we are
currently taking expressions of interest for prospective
campuses in Point Cook and Skye. With God’s blessing we
are looking to opening campuses in these areas and look
forward to growing His kingdom in these two new areas.

Our Year 9 students are on camp this week at beautiful
Eildon with the Outdoor Education group. They will be
sleeping in tents and doing great activities like bushwalking.
Bushwalking is perhaps the best way to interact with
Australia’s unique environment. Navigating with map and
compass and carrying all required gear, bushwalking
requires groups to travel on foot between campsites.
Groups can explore teamwork, leadership and personal
organisation skills while travelling in a natural environment.

CAR PARK EXTENSION
We are delighted to inform you that after two and half years of
hard work behind the scenes to extend the car park and
improve traffic safety on the College property we now have
approval for a new car park. Subsequently we are working
through all the conditions attached to the approval so that the
construction of the car park can be completed this year.
Thank you for your patience and your prayers as we undertake
this project.

SECONDARY MATTERS
Athletics Carnival
The Secondary Athletics Carnival was held on 20th February and was a
huge success. Ross Reserve was turned into a sea of Blue, Green &
Red as students and staff came along in their house colours.
Over the course of the day we had 19 records broken. Well done to
both Anthony Chau & Shehara Weerakoon who both broke multiple
records in their events. It was great to see so many students having a
go and enjoying the day.
The day finished off with the War Cries. These rose to another level
and the unity in each team was fantastic as they all joined together to
support their team.
We would like to thank our House Captains, Grace Nguyen & Andy
Hoang (Wesley Warriors); Deborah Madduma & Nibal Hilal (Luther
Knights) and Chantelle Raux & Jerome Chhien (Ten Boom Titans) for
contributing to the success of the day.
Thank you also to all the students, staff, alumni and Parents & Friends
who came along for their contribution to this wonderful event.
