ACS6000 Family End-of-Life (EOL) SKU Announcement
Effective Date: April 1, 2014
Overview
This bulletin is announcing a hardware change for the entire ACS6000 product line.
Due to its parts becoming obsolete, the PCMCIA cage is no longer available. As a result, the PCMCIA is being designed out
of the product and replaced with new hardware. The solutions provided by the PCMCIA can now be addressed with the USB
on the appliance. The new hardware has been available since February 1, 2014.
Things to note about the new hardware:
• The unit will look the same except the PCMCIA slot will no longer be there.
• The firmware is the same.
• The price remains the same.
• Warranty and support agreement rules remain the same.
• Only the SKU number is being EOL.
The following conditions apply:
1. As of April 1, 2014, the ACS6000 product SKUs (listed in the table below) will move to EOL status.
2. Once in EOL status, maintenance will not be available for purchase on the old product SKU.*
3. New orders for the ACS6000 models and extended maintenance will be accepted through April 1, 2014.
4. All products will be supported through the warranty period or through the maintenance obligations.
* Some exceptions may apply. See your Avocent representative for details.
The table shows the current SKUs and their respective replacement SKUs.
