Last year we started focusing on Growth Mindset. This has continued in the classrooms this year.
A person with a growth mindset can feel success when they: can learn anything they want to,
when frustrated they perservere, they like to challenge themselves, learn from failure, try hard,
they are inspired from other people’s success and their attitude and effort determines everything.
MELC drop off zone
Whole school
Athletics Carnival–
Wednesday 11th of
March.
We are very lucky at South St that we have ample parking in the MELC car park.
There is also a drop off zone available. This zone is for cars to drive in, children to
exit the car and then cars move on. This is to allow continuous flow in the traffic. If
you do need to get out of your car to assist your child, you will need to park in one of
the parking bays. This is just not parents at our school it is also parents from the
MELC and they have been asked to do the same. Please note the drop off zone is
not a parking space to wait for your child while they exit the school.
Fundraising Committee
As a part of School Council we have a fundraising co-ordinator, Robyn Wildblood. Robyn is
seeking assistance with a variety of activities during the year. These activities include the Easter
Raffle, the Mother’s Day stall and the Father’s Day stall. If you would like to assist with one of
these activities please come and see the office staff and they will put you in contact with Robyn.

School Council Meeting
The next School Council meeting will be on 17th March . Office Bearers will be elected at this
meeting.
Bike and Scooters
We have had a number of children riding scooters to school without helmets.
It is law and school policy that all children who ride their bike or scooter to
and from school must wear a helmet. The school’s motto is “No helmet, No
wheels’.
Please reinforce this at home and make sure your child has a helmet.
ELECTRONIC EMAIL
A number of families are requesting to have their Snippets sent via email. At present we will still
send a paper copy home to all eldest in the family. Just a reminder, Snippets are available on the
school website (www.moe-southst-ps.vic.edu.au) as well.
I would like to start receiving Snippets by email

Snack Attack News
Thankyou to the parents who have offered time to help on our canteen roster.
If anyone is interested in being an emergency contact rather than a regular helper, I would be happy to
hear from you. Hot Cross Buns will be our fun food day this term. More information will be sent home next
week. Thankyou, Mandy Wiggins.
Easter Fundraising - Casual clothes day Friday March 13th,
2015.
A casual clothes day will be held on Friday March 13th, 2015 for a gold
coin donation.
We are asking kindly, for families to donate Easter eggs/gifts for our
annual Easter Raffle. Children will be sent home with raffle books
shortly, for the price of 50 cents each or $5 a book. The raffle will be
drawn on Wednesday 25th March.
Through your kind donations each year we raise funds for various
projects around the school, and this year we are aiming for new
basketball rings, which the kids are very excited about.
Your efforts are greatly appreciated, thanks again.
Robyn Wildblood.
VEGGIE GARDEN NEWS
A big thankyou to the Humphries and McCartney families who kindly
donated tools for the children to use in the garden.
Keep the jars coming in please. The children and I are hopefully
going to make some more green tomato pickles and relish over the
next couple of weeks.
Thankyou once again for your support.
Rebecca Wolfenden
