Prosecco, Fiol, Treviso, Italy
NV
£35.50
Fiol is the result of a group of young creatives attempting to capture the Italian way of life - the Mediterranean philosophy of
loving life and what it's climate gives. A soft wine with slightly less bubbles than the average Prosecco.
The colour is a pale salmon-pink, and on the nose there are bright notes of red berries and a hint of fresh herbs. On the palate
the wine is balanced and creamy, with a crisp, delicate finish.

The chalk downlands of Hampshire have almost exactly the same soil structure as that of Champagne. An 18 point wine in
Decanter magazine means that this is a far cry from English wines of a bygone era. It is simply delicious and surpasses many a
Champagne.
This is one of the lighter well-known Champagnes on the market, making it ideal in this environment. Terrific quaffing fizz, that
becomes honeyed, and toasty with extended bottle age. Known as a ‘Chardonnay driven’ style, it has a wonderful, crisp attack
with the Pinot Noir kicking in further down the line, leaving a clean, but nutty fresh flavour in the mouth.
Pale gold with a very fine bead; flowery, delicately toasty aroma with fruit and complexity; creamy, beautifully balanced with a
dry, harmonious finish.
Rosé Wines
Pale and interesting, subtle, light, refreshing red fruits
Light cherry pink, pleasant refreshing finish
Pale orange-pink. Lovely floral lift to the fruity aromas and flavors of strawberry, raspberry and orange zest. Densely packed
and dry, with terrific inner-mouth verve and minerality.

The Vermentino grapes come from selected vineyards in the Picpoul de Pinet region. Vermentino is valued for its ability to
produce aromatic, flavoursome, fresh whites of excellent quality in the sunny climate of the South of France.
The name of the wine refers to the Badassière vineyard which lies near the small town of Pomerols. In the 18th century, the
vineyard belonged to Baron Charles Emmanuel, a colourful character who was rumoured to be the illegitimate son of King Louis
XV. This region benefits from a sunny, warm climate which encourages ripe, fruity flavours in the wines, while the coastal
breezes help retain freshness and aromatics.
Influenced by the Atlantic just to the west, this quintessential Muscadet offers clear cut, racy fruit, with a gunflinty note on the
nose, zingy acidity and long minerally finish.
Unquestionably one of the greatest names in Alsace, the Trimbach family based in the picturesque town of Ribeauville have
been making wines since 1626!! This Pinot Blanc considered a benchmark for quality, consistency and style is traditionally dry
and matches many light dishes. It is no accident that Trimbach wines are listed in every Michelin 3 Star restaurants in France.
Inviting aroma's of white flowers and wet stone minerality exude from the nose. Crisp acidity is accompanied by a lovely
weight and richness on the palate. This Lys is linear, pure, elegant and refined. A classic Chablis.
Traditionally regarded as the best of the white Maconnais Burgundies, floral, fruity, rich generous stuff, with tantalising soft
undertones of pear and vanilla, I think you’ll notice its aristocratic credentials.
Grown on steep, granite based terraces that slope down towards the Rhone, Condrieu is the world’s finest spot for producing
world class Viognier, with a sumptuous apricot and peach fruit underscored by a fresh mineral imprint
Focused, angular Meursault with lovely acidity and minerals. Light bodied, lean mid palate with fresh apricots and moderate
finish
Aromas of white flowers, citrus, and white peach appear on the nose. The palate is round with fresh acidity and minerality
that lingers on the finish.

Planeta is the icon winery in Sicily today. Their wines are scooping awards with every vintage and this delightful fruit driven
number personifies their approach to sunshine winemaking perfectly. Vibrant and aromatic with notes of citrus fruits, lychee,
pineapple and peach complemented by hints of minerals, herbs and mint. Full and dry, smooth and supple with balancing acidity
and a long, minty finish.
100% Pinot Grigio. Pale in colour, with fresh grassy notes and hints of green apples. The palate has a touch of honeyed richness
but is fresh and steely, making it a wonderful aperitif
The Pieropan family have become internationally renowned for their award winning Soave’s. The Soave Pieropan is a blend of
90% Garganega and 10% Trebbiano di Soave giving the wine a classic Soave character of white flowers and almonds.
One of the most talked about white varieties in the world at the moment. Often described as white Barolo, this wine comes from
vineyards neighbouring the great red wines of Piemonte. Crisp, robust, but also lingering and savoury, this is one of my favourite
food whites. Elegant and rare, there are only two dozen or so significant producers of this wine left in the world today.
The 2011 vintage in Gavi di Gavi created wines more perfumed than previous years. 100% unoaked Cortese oozes a lively
green apple and pear character with a great finish of good Gavi.
Spain
Albariño, Martin Codax, Rias Baixas
On the nose, the wine shows a great complexity marked by intense fruity aromas of fresh grapefruit, apricot and melon. In
the mouth combines fruity flavours and freshness with a rounded acidity, resulting in a balanced wine that boasts an opulent
taste with elegant aromas.
Germany
‘Generations' Riesling Feinherb, Axel Pauly, Mosel, Germany
2012
£34.00
Bright yellow in colour, the ‘Generations‘ Riesling is aromatic on the nose with notes of peach, honey and ripe apple. The
palate is round and fairly full in body with excellent intensity of stone fruit and mineral character. The fresh acidity balances
the off-dry finish to give an appealing, harmonious wine that is firm in structure yet with plenty of flavour too.

2011
£32.00
Forrester is becoming an iconic winemaker that takes great inspiration from the wines of the Loire and has been described as
singlehandedly leading the wine industry in making quality Chenin Blancs. This wine is harvested by hand and bottled early
allowing intensely fresh fruit flavours like pineapple & quince and matching it with a good acidity.
Pinot Gris loves the cooler climate of the Adelaide Hills, the outcome is a wine that is delicate whilst also delightfully invigorating.
If you like Pinot Grigio and fancy something slightly different then this one is for you.
Tinpot Hut for us at The Pot Kiln beautifully sums up what New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc is all about. It’s the aromas of citrus
blossom, lemon verbena and pink grapefruit that make this a firm favourite on our list.
A buttery chardonnay perfectly suited to white meats with rich sauces. This is somewhat of a treat to have on our list as only
3509 bottles were made.
Semillon/Sauvignon Blanc, ‘Mangan Vineyard’, Cullen, Margaret River, Western Australia, 2010
£41.50
Dr. Kevin Cullen planted the first experimental vines in Margaret River in 1966. Since then Cullen have become a world leading
wine producing family whilst also being certified biodynamic, organic and Australia’s first carbon neutral winery. The Sauv part
of the blend is aged in new French oak barriques for 5 months whilst the Sem part was fermented in stainless steel to retain
freshness. The oak provides added depth but remains unobtrusive and well-balanced.

Oregon Pinot Gris, Firesteed, Oregon, USA
2010
£37.00
Full of tingling aromatics, typical of the grape variety, bursting with exotic tropical fruit flavours, yet retaining freshness
through its natural racy acidity
Firesteed is now one of the leading wineries in the Oregon area. This Pinot Gris blend combines delicate floral notes with rich
silky tropical fruit. It is dry with a certain minerality and stone fruit character with texture before a long persistent finish.
Dijon Clones Chardonnay, Pine Ridge, Napa Valley, California, USA
2009
£52.00
This is American Chardonnay all over. It is marvelously rich with spice, vanilla and fruit flavours. This is largely due to the
vineyards location on the southernmost part of the Napa Valley meaning the maritime influence is a key factor contributing to
a slow and even rate of maturity of the fruit prior to hand-harvesting.

Exceptional wine made from 100% pure Malbec on limestone hillsides south of the River Lot, this has a deep, almost black
cherry colour. Slightly tobaccoey, with fruit more redolent of figs/prunes and a touch of menthol and spice on the finish.
Garnet red colour. An aromatic nose with fruity aromas of wild fruits, blackberry, blueberry and spice. A very well structured
wine, with well-integrated tannins, smooth and delicate but contains plenty of power and great balance

very elegant tannins and a lingering mineral and lifted finish.
Bright ruby red. Delicate fruit aromas with a touch of vanilla. Flavours of raspberries, strawberries. Medium bodied with a silky

£110.00
The wine has a vibrant medium to pale ruby colour, with perfumed red soft fruits and slightly smoky aromas on the nose. The
palate is ethereal – it has light to mid weight with sweet red fruit flavours and a lovely soft supple texture. The wine manages
to be both mouth-wateringly fresh and possess surprising richness. There is a delightful balance between the wine’s alcohol,
fruit and fresh acidity. There is a long clean finish. This wine sets the tone superbly for the whole A–F Gros range.
Deep ruby red in colour, with a black cherry core. This wine has lively berry fruits on the nose, with a touch of liquorice and a
hint of black pepper. The 2010 is full of fruit, juicy and round with ripe tannnins that gently support the cherry, cassis and herb
character on the finish.
From predominantly schistose soils in the north of the appellation, this is a wine which combines beautiful tapenade/violet
aromatics with a very serious palate, with firm, well-bred tannins cloaking the fruit, and adding a fine architectural framework.
100% Pinot Noir. Succulent berry fruit and slight vegetal flavours gives way to silky soft tannins and excellent depth
and concentration.
This wine presents an intense deep ruby red colour. It has lovely aromas of cocoa and plum on the nose with a hint of black
pepper.Powerful, yet very elegant, it is a superb example of a well made Gevrey Chambertin Premier Cru which will age
beautifully for the next twenty years.

100% Merlot, a big wine! Intense purple colour, full bodied and powerful. Excellent with grilled meats and game
Rufina is the smallest of the Chianti zones but also one of the most special. The cool breeze blowing down the Sieve Valley gives
the best wines a finesse that few in Chianti Classico can match. The robust tannins and the long, fine finish are the hallmark of
the Selvapiana wines.
This is a cracking example of the Piedmont varietal Dolcetto. Varja’s wines are characterised by pristine flavours and defined
perfumes. There are vineyards are located 400m above sea level in the commune of Barolo.
This Brunello remains a fine example of the modern style of wine making that is going on in the area – rich and cedary with
fine-grained tannins and excellent length.
Spain, Portugal & Austria
Attractive and youthful ruby colour. Aromas include notes of dark cherries and blueberries. On the palate the wine is dry,
clean, well structured with good acidity and a good concentration on the finish.
Blackcurrant, fruit peel, jam and raspberries, herbal notes and nice rich tannins and juicy structure. We also really like it slightly
chilled. Delightful with pasta, vegetable dishes, cured sausages, cold cuts or grilled meat.
Deep concentrated bright red colour. The bouquet is subtle with notes of black fruits and a hint of spice. A blend of Alicante
Bouschet, Aragones, Touriga Franca & Touriga Nacional. On the palate the wine displays lovely generosity of red fruits with
velvety texture and a firm sophisticated structure.

Fresh, juicy and mineral Mencia, the hottest red grape in Spain right now. Mouth-wateringly moreish, bursting with red fruit.
Fantastic with game birds.
Intense red cherry with hints of garnet. Elegant aromas of red fruits, sloes with spicy notes, liquorice, toffee and chocolate
Structured and round on the palate. Fruit lingers with a woody finish
This is a very fruity wine with some of the Dão minerality lending it structure. There are red-fruit flavors, with notes of coffee
and herb. Its tannins are balanced, and its acidity lends a juicy aftertaste
L’Expressio del Priorat is a new label from Mas La Mola, made from native varieties of Garnatxa, Syrah and Carignano with a
small amount of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot to add complexity. Half of the wine was aged in oak to round the texture but
not to impart any oak flavours. The result is a wine with a silky texture perfectly suited to enjoy with any roasted meats.
Ripe cherry or garnet red. Complex and intense aromas of leather, tobacco and spicy wood notes. Mature, ripe and well
structured wine with velvety and well balanced finish.

Deep cherry red with a violet edge. Wild red fruit aroma perfectly combines with fine spicy notes. Fresh and lively with enveloping
tannins. A wine of marked personality, made from 100% old vine Samsò, the local name for Cariñena/Carignan, from a 40ha
vineyard where the vines are over 50 years old.

Malbec, Manos Negras, Argentina
2011

The Malbec & Cabernet Sauvignon harmonise perfectly to make a fruity, well balanced wine that will match with most red meats

blend.
Deep, lively ruby colour. Intense blackcurrant fruit, cherries, plums and dark chocolate on the nose. On the palate it displays
good concentration, round tannins and a pleasant finish.
Opaque ruby colour. The nose is youthful with pure and well defined notes of black fruits and hints of violets. The palate is dry

Segheiso Zinfandels have been scooping up awards left, right and centre. Nevertheless, Segheiso is still firmly in family hands.
This is their hallmark. An approachable, ripe and juicy Zin.
Just south of the prestigious Stag’s Leap appellation, this is prime Cab Sav territory with Napa’s signature hot days and cool
nights contributing to making flavourful and ripe grapes. Nevertheless, only 610 cases were made meaning that this is a highly
sort after wine with a whoppingly rich palate that has the concentration of fruit that you would expect from the Yanks.
Tri-nations
Deep, purple coloured wine. The bouquet displays aromas of blackberries and blueberries with a subtle hint of dark chocolate
and spice. Sweet plums and varietal fruit palate layered with complex black berry flavours with lingering oak sweetness.
Wonderful with beef or venison.
One of South Africa’s best wineries, Thelema produces amazing, delicious wine that is both complex and subtle all at the same
time. This is a combination of red fruits & black with a little hint of white pepper. If you don’t want something that’s going to
knock you on the floor but you do want something of pure quality this is for you.
Ruby colour. Complex plummy, spicy red fruit aromas on the nose. Savoury and blackberry notes on the palate; touches of
honeysuckle fruit from the Viognier are well integrated with the oak tannins to give the wine a long, velvety finish.
Pinot Noir, Sanctuary, Marlborough, New Zealand

Cliff Edge Shiraz, Mount Langi Ghiran, Australia
2007
£36.50
Vibrant medium ruby red. Everything that a Marlborough Pinot Noir should be, juicy but focused fruit character with a spicy
perfumed nose.
If ever there was a big robust example of Shiraz, then this is it. Brilliant with some of our more ooomphy dishes like beef cheeks.
Plump and fruity with pepper, spices and pulled together by smart oak. If you like Aussie wines with Aussie characteristics, then
try it.
Peter Max` Pinot Noir, Crystallum, Walker Bay, South Africa

environmentally sustainable even the winery is made out of straw bales!
Very deep ruby colour. The bouquet is intense and inviting displaying aromas of boysenberry, dark chocolate, smoked meat and
pronounced notes of black pepper. Ripe, juicy black fruits, sweet and inviting spices, ensuring a great balance and length.
Grenache ‘The Experiment’, Penny’s Hill, Mclaren Vale, Australia
2011
£48.00
Ruby red. A vibrant nose showing red cherry and strawberry with hints of white pepper, anise and savoury spice. Flavoursome
and intense, displaying red fruits and fresh cherries. Fine, savoury tannins provide structure and balance leading to a long and
generous finish.
Classique Bordeaux Blend, Eikendal, Stellenbosh, South Africa
2010
£48.00
Rich garnet red. Sweet, ripe black and red fruits followed up with spice and earthy, mineral characters. Generous aromas of
dark fruits and nutty mocha with ripe, concentrated fruits on the palate and a velvety, balanced finish.
Coonawarra Cabernet/Merlot, Balnaves, South Australia
2009
£49.50
`Nine Popes` Barossa Valley, Charles Melton, South Australia
2010
£59.50
This is Bordeaux blend with an Ozzie accent. The 28% Merlot provides the flesh whilst the remaining 72% Cabernet gives its’
trademark blackcurrant character. This is a wine that screams out for roasted game.
Charles Melton’s wines were in 1984, when they were first produced, styled on those from the Rhone but are now considered
leading examples of the varieties in their own right. The name ‘Nine Popes’ is itself a pun on the Rhone’s Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
‘Nine Popes’ has a very complex spicey nose with a touch of cedar and liquorice. This is big scale red wine perfect with venison.
