every pound and penny we give this
Lent up to the value of £5m. Please
give as you are able.
MUSICAL CONCERT
The Kempston Musical Society with
The Ouse Valley Singers is giving a
musical concert in St Joseph’s
Church on Saturday 21st March at
7.30pm in aid of our parish project,
the Prebend Day Centre. The theme
will be the Passion of Christ
according to St Mark and will
include music by Tchaikovsky,
Mozart, Handel, Fauré, Stainer and
Karl Jenkins. Programmes on sale at
£5 after all Masses today. Come and
enjoy an evening of beautiful music.

STATIONS OF THE CROSS
Stations of the Cross today in St Joseph’s and Our Lady’s at
4.00pm. Please try to attend as part of your Lenten practice,
especially those of you who do not normally come. It is a good
act of self-denial to give your time to be present in prayer and
meditation on the passion of Christ.
FATIMA DEVOTIONS
Fatima Devotions this Saturday after the 10.45am Mass to pray
for the gift of peace in our troubled world.
WOMEN’S WORLD DAY OF PRAYER
This Friday in St Joseph’s Church at 2.00pm
and again in St Andrew’s Church, Kimbolton
Road at 7.30pm. All are welcome, men and
women, to join together in prayer at either

IN SEARCH OF PEACE
This is a Faith Concert with violinist
Teresa Brown in St Joseph’s Church,
Bedford on Friday 13th March at 7.30pm.

LENTEN TALKS
A series of talks on each Wednesday of Lent has
been arranged on ‘Traditions of Christian
Spirituality’. The talks begin at 1.10pm in Bunyan
Meeting, Mill Street, Bedford. Full details on the

LENT COURSE
An ecumenical Lent course centring on the film
The King’s Speech starts at 7.30pm in St
James’s Barn, Church End, Biddenham on
Mondays 2nd, 16th & 23rd March. All welcome.

CROSSING THE THRESHOLD
Two free resource afternoons exploring local outreach
to non church-going (lapsed) Catholics: Saturday 14th &
21st March, 12noon – 4.00pm. Venues: 14th March in
Christ the King Parish Hall, Harrowden Road, Bedford;
21st March in the Ss Philip & James Parish Hall, Severn

HEALING SERVICE
A short healing service will be held after the
6.30pm Mass next Sunday.
LENTEN SOUP LUNCH-KEMPSTON
Delicious home-made soup lunch served every
Friday during Lent in our Lady’s, Kempston at
12.30pm in aid of CAFOD. Donations gratefully
received.
THE GENERAL ELECTION 2015
The Bishops have written a joint letter to
all Catholics in England and Wales
encouraging us to participate and vote
in the General Election and offering
some key issues and questions for
reflection on where candidates stand.

MOTHERS’ PRAYERS
The Mothers’ Prayers group meet this Monday in
the Reconciliation Chapel after the 10.45am
Mass. All mothers welcome to pray for their
children.
SVP NATIONAL RAFFLE
The Society of St Vincent de Paul is having a
national raffle in aid of its work throughout the
country and tickets at 50p are on sale after Mass
today. 1st prize: £3000, 2nd: £2000, 3rd: £1000 plus
other cash prizes.
RETREAT FOR CATECHISTS
A Retreat Day has also been arranged for parish
catechists on Saturday 25th April from 10am –
3.00pm at Turvey Abbey, MK43 8DH. Cost is
£10 per person. Please bring a packed lunch. Tea
