ZETA PHI BETA SORORITY, INCORPORATED PI ALPHA ZETA CHAPTER Oregon Dove Scholarship Application 2015 - Non-Traditional Student Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated was founded as a community service organization on January 16, 1920 on the campus of Howard University in Washington D.C. The Sorority was established by five African-American women under the principles of Scholarship, Service, Sisterhood and Finer Womanhood. Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., is an international organization that spans the globe with over 800 chapters in the United States, Africa, Germany, the Virgin Islands, Japan and Korea among others. The Pi Alpha Zeta Chapter was chartered on January 4, 1995 in Portland Oregon. Pi Alpha Zeta is the only Zeta Phi Beta graduate chapter in the state of Oregon. It is composed of several African American women who have graduated from various colleges and universities. Individually and collectively, chapter members volunteer their time to serve the Portland metro area in many ways. This includes volunteer hours, monetary donations and many community outreach projects. Keeping with the precepts of the sorority, the Pi Alpha Zeta Chapter awards an annual scholarship.
