Congratulations to Aimee McClure (P7) who has been selected for the Northern Ireland Under 13 Football Excellence Squad. Aimee trains with the squad every Tuesday evening and was first talent spotted here at school by the after schools football coach—a star in the making! It’s warm and cosy with the blankets inside. We enjoyed making the igloo and visitors into our classroom keep admiring it.” By Hannah Brown, Danielle Forsythe and Heidi Hutchinson P4. A busy month for P7 P7 pupils have been very busy over the last month. They participated in the F1 in schools challenge at the start of February. In total five teams from the school entered the competition in which they had to design and make an F1 car, race the car on competition day and give a team presentation. The pupils thoroughly enjoyed the competition and although there were no winners on the day they learned a lot as commented upon by one of the judges. P7 have also been involved in the ‘Into Industry’ project which saw them visit the CDE, Cookstown to find out about the business. The children then returned to school to create presentations which they delivered at an event in the Burnavon, Cookstown. A further project for P7 has been their links with Bank of Ireland, Cookstown. The children had a visit from bank personnel to their classroom when they received a lot of sound financial advice. This was followed by a trip to the bank in Cookstown and has now prompted the class to create their own mini business—so watch this space!!
