Volume 29 Number 3 March 2015 www.greateruticachamber.org You have heard it before and you will hear it again…this is the year of GROWTH UNLIMITED for the Greater Utica Chamber of Commerce. We are so excited to be so close to reaching 1,000 members, and we need your help! This March, we are kicking off our “March Membership Madness”, with the goal of adding over 100 new members to our Chamber. All month long, we will be arming you, our members, with materials to help. There are three ways to get involved: • Send us a tip for a new member by sending us their name and contact information. • Share information about the Chamber with a potential member. Throughout the month of March we will be sending you shareable content. • Volunteer for the highlight of our “madness” on Wednesday, March 25th at our March Membership Madness Drive. We will be sending out information for sign-up soon. As members, YOU are the biggest ambassadors for our Chamber! You know our benefits first hand, so help us spread the word! We look forward to growing our membership and bringing you even more member benefits in the future. Thank you for your continued support, and remember…GROWTH UNLIMITED! In This Issue... Being able to help others in different areas is a passion of mine because it helps me grow, and those around me as well. I feel honored to be a part of The Greater Utica Chamber of Commerce as an intern and would like to bring in as much as I can to fulfill the vision of expanding opportunity within the Utica community. Ilya Ryan The opportunity of interning with the Greater Utica Chamber of Commerce interested Ryan for several reasons. The greatest of them all was the upcoming Strengthening Cities, Communities, and Homes conference. Ryan has a great interest in this conference and will be spending a great majority of his time at the Chamber working on this exciting project. Ilya Petrovets Hello, My name is Ilya Petrovets. I am currently attending Mohawk Valley Community College for an associates in Business Management. Previously, I went to Thomas R. Proctor High School. While at Proctor, I was able to experience working a part time job at McDonald’s as a crew trainer. Also, I was able to lead both, the basketball and lacrosse team, as the team captain. Both of these opportunities were a great experience in managing because I had to show integrity, make wise decisions for the team, and lead by example. Additionally, I volunteer as a youth leader in my church, House of Prayer on Herkimer Road, also known as Taking Care of Business.
