A short statement on who you are, how long you have been a member of the BCAK, and why
you wish to serve as a director of the BCAK is required to be submitted along with your
completed nomination form (please limit to 250 words or less). This statement will be included
in the AGM booklet under the “Director Election” section and made available by email
distribution to all BCAK members a minimum of 2 weeks prior to the AGM for consideration.
Instructions
Nominations must be made by filling out and signing the above Director Nomination form and
returning it to the BCAK office by regular mail, fax, in person, or as a PDF attachment by email
no less than 30 days prior to the Election.




Only Practicing Members are eligible for election as directors
Incomplete forms will not be accepted as nomination for candidacy.
Candidates need not attend the AGM to be elected.
Nominations will only be accepted from the floor of the AGM if there are more director
vacancies to be filled than there are approved candidates (Qualified nominations
received by 5 pm local time April 2nd 2015)
How the election process works




All “complete” nomination forms will qualify the Practicing Member for candidacy.
If there are more candidates than vacancies to be filled, a formal election will be held
during the AGM in accordance with the bylaws.
If there are equal or fewer candidates than director vacancies to be filled, the
candidates are declared elected. The floor of the meeting may then be opened up to
nominations to fill any remaining vacancies. The opening up of nominations from the
floor of the meeting requires approval of a resolution by the eligible voting members
present (majority vote required).
If a resolution for nominations from the floor is approved, any nominees will require the
recommendation of at least 2 “Practicing Members in good standing’ present at the
meeting to have their candidacy accepted. Subsequently, an election will be held to fill
any remaining vacancies, if there are more candidates than available positions,
otherwise candidates nominated from the floor will be declared elected.
