Accountable To The Resilience Lab Co-ordinator Accountable For N/a Job Purpose 1. To support the delivery of regular open access Resilience Lab workshops on a Wednesday evenings and other sessions as and when needed. 2. To promote and support delivery of the Resilience Lab workshop and events across the city. Key Relationships • • • • Local young people. OTR staff and volunteers. Local VCS organisations, youth and faith groups. Key stakeholders in mental health, criminal justice, education, employment and social care. Job Summary | Youth Support Worker Delivery • To support the delivery of regular open access Resilience Lab workshops on a Wednesday evenings and other sessions as and when needed. • To promote and support delivery of the Resilience Lab workshop and events across the city. • To monitor all workshops and collect feedback. • To contribute to the ongoing review of workshop content. Supervision and CPD • • • To attend monthly peer supervision and attend any training required. To keep up to date with research and social policy in the field of child and adolescent mental health and resilience. To participate in wider team meetings and events when appropriate. Other • To be responsible for ensuring all paper and electronic records are managed and stored safely at all times. • To respect and maintain the confidentiality to all OTR clients both internally and with external agencies. • To work within the spirit and framework of all OTR policies, governance, and delivery philosophy, and to keep up to date with relevant training and professional development, especially in relation to Confidentiality, Data Protection, Vulnerable Adults, and Child Protection and Safeguarding. Person Specification | Youth Support Worker (BME) Education & Training Essential Desirable A good general standard of education and a demonstrable ability to apply knowledge. A degree in a relevant field (youth work, psychology, social work or related). Experience Knowledge Experience of facilitating groups and/or training workshops. Excellent working knowledge of theories about resilience and mental wellbeing. Knowledge of local services for young people. Knowledge of issues relating to young people’s mental health and wellbeing. Knowledge of the issues related to social justice and mental health. Skills Excellent communication and presentation skills to capture and hold the attention of a group. Able to present confidently, comfortably and clearly to a group. Able to respond to the group dynamics and able to relate and respond to challenging participants. The ability to build and maintain meaningful relationships with young people whilst maintaining professional boundaries. Ability to recognise and respect confidentiality. An ability to work confidently on own initiative, a self-starter. Good ICT skills. Person Specification | Youth Support Worker (BME) Personal Be friendly, honest, welcoming, committed.
