TEACH MY PEOPLE TO PRAY
Holiness is a Calling for Everyone
The saints are not supermen, nor were they born perfect. They are like us, like each one of us. They are people who, before reaching the glory of heaven, lived normal lives with joys and sorrows, struggles and hopes.
What changed their lives? When they recognized God’s
love, they followed it with all their heart without reserve
or hypocrisy. They spent their lives serving others; they
endured suffering and adversity without hatred and responded to evil with good, spreading joy and peace.
This is the life of a saint.
Financial Report
While the results of your increased offerings since last
January and generous end-of-the-year contributions have
allowed us to pay off our line of credit and helped us close
in on covering our expenses, our expenses will likely exceed our income as of March, 2015 according to our projections. We are now at risk of needing to again tap into
the line of credit to meet our budget needs during March
through June. If you are able to resume your commitment
to increased sacrificial giving at this time – and maintain it
over the summer months ideally! – this will help out the
parish greatly. As you can see, we have held expenses at
a consistent number and are actually delaying some very
important maintenance projects in order to maintain a balanced budget. But eventually we will need to fix and repair many things in order for our beautiful parish to continue running efficiently. Please help us meet the cost demands of running this vibrant, parish community that we
all call our spiritual home by continuing to contribute to the
parish weekly and as generously as you can.
With gratitude,
Patti Purcell, SMM Finance Council Chair

Seton: The Big Band Reunion, the outstanding 18
piece big band that performs each Tuesday at Frank’s Pizza Palace, has
offered to have some of our Seton jazz band students “sit-in” with them
on their March 3rd performance. The band starts performing at 7:30 and
the Seton students will be joining them after the opening 2-3 selections.
The event is called the Big Band Reunion’s Seton Sit-In, and it will give
some of our students a chance to play in a professional big band, alongside professional musicians. All are welcome to come and enjoy the
music!
March 7--Bread Prayer Partner for Grade 2 at the 5:00pm Mass
St. Mary Elementary: The fourth graders have been learning about
Earth’s structure and experimenting with earthquakes and volcanoes.
The students each constructed a building made out of mini marshmallows
and spaghetti noodles. We then used a pan of Jell-o to simulate an earthquake to see how the structures were affected. Some structures did very
well, but others crumbled under the pressure. The students also took a
virtual field trip to see various volcanoes around the ring of fire using
Google Earth.
March 9--Religious Formation for Grades 1-5 at 3:45pm
St. Gabriel: During Lent, the first grade students are participating in an
on-line program called “Freerice.” The children answer math and vocabulary questions. If their answer is correct they earn ten grains of rice that
will be donated to people in need through the United Nations Food program. During the first three days of Lent the children earned 1,490 grains
of rice.
St. Margaret Mary: During February, Heart Healthy Month, the PK
students learned about exercise, healthy foods, and taking care of their
bodies. Pediatrician, Dr. Liza DeWitt, and Dentist, Dr. Brandon Roth,
taught the children how to take care of their hearts and their teeth.

Zephyrfest 2015 Key Club Raffle
Zephyrfest will be celebrating its 30th anniversary this year! One of the
most talked about features of Zephyrfest is the opportunity to walk away
from the event with a new car. This year’s Key Club is raffling off three
fabulous vehicles: 2015 BMW 228i xDrive Convertible, 2015 Lexus NX
and a 2015 Chevrolet Colorado. The goal is to have all 600 key club memberships bought before the event on May 9, 2015.
Keep in mind, there will only be 600 total Key Club memberships sold, so
your chances are great, but the memberships will sell quickly.
Without question, having the chance to be a winner in the Zephyrfest car
raffle is exciting! However, the true excitement is in knowing that your contribution helps support the outstanding Catholic education and quest for academic excellence for so many students within the St. Mary Central High
School and TCCES community.
For more information, please contact Robin Gallucci at SMC at 920-7227796 ext. 803 or email at [email protected]. Thank you for your support!

It is with extreme gratitude we, the Renew/FOH Group, wish to thank you, the generous members of St. Margaret Mary for your contributions to the Friends of Haiti collection in early February. The collection brought in 485 washcloths, 306 bars of soap and $820.00. The money will
be used to purchase eleven 2-bucket water filtration systems. In addition 151 baby hygiene kits were assembled (each containing 2 diapers sewed
from recycled t-shirts from St. Vincent De Paul, 2 washcloths and 1 bar of Dial soap), and 35 adult hygiene kits (2 washcloths, a bar of soap, and
toothbrush and toothpaste –received from private donations). The extra washcloths and soap are being shipped to Haiti along with the kits.
As many may remember Barb Peterson, who passed away in January, spear headed this project. This collection was dedicated to Barb.
Friends of Haiti will ship by sea our contributions to Haiti for their Medical Mission trip in March.
