Father's Day Puppy Chow
Sample shows a dog dish purchased at a local $1.00 store.
1 - 2 - 3 Learn Curriculum
Directions:
• Purchase ahead of time dog dishes. Check your local
dollar store.
• Read recipe for puppy chow and purchase items needed.
• Wash dog dishes when after you buy them.
• Make puppy chow.
• Fill dog dishes with puppy chow.
Sample below shows dog dishes I found at a local dollar store.
After dog dishes are filled, cover bowls with Saran Wrap, and
use tape to keep the wrap secure.
(I also added a couple of homemade chocolate chip cookies).
Using cellophane wrap, wrap up puppy chow. Close the top
using a small rubber band.
Attach ribbon and dog bone card.
(Have children sign their name inside bone card).

• Print up on white card stock.
• Trim
• Fold bone card at the top of the bone, trim and have
children sign their name inside card.

Puppy Chow
½ lb butter
1 cup peanut butter
1 lb box powdered sugar
12 oz chocolate chips
1 jar of dry roasted peanuts
1 lg box Crispix cereal (or Rice Chex)
Melt butter, peanut butter and chocolate chips in microwave on
medium setting 2 minutes or longer. (Until melted).
Stir to blend. Place box of Crispix cereal in a large bowl and pour
chocolate mixture over top. Stir to coat. Put coated cereal in a
grocery bag, and pour 1 lb of powdered sugar over the cereal
mixture. Shake until sugar is absorbed. Open bag and let cool.
Place in desired container. (Example of dog dish for Father’s Day
shown).
