THIRD SUNDAY OF LENT
Year: B Weekday: Cycle 1
Prayer of the Church: Psalter Week 3
experience the passion of His love. We should all be
on fire with this message!
FEAST OF ST PATRICK on Tues 17th March.
SUNDAY THOUGHT: ‘You are God’s temple’
Just as Jesus cleared the Temple of all corrupting
influences, He wants to cleanse us. Just as Our Lord
was zealous for His Father’s house, He is zealous for
each of us — for we are all temples of His Holy Spirit.
Jesus is so encouraging & supportive. We know that He
loves each of us unimaginably. However, we can hurt &
we can harm the beautiful temple of our lives when we
allow sin to overtake us and this upsets the Lord now,
just as it did then. But, Jesus’ anger is directed against
our sinful behaviour, not against our hearts. He is
passionate for us. Are we are as passionate for Him?
St. Patrick’s Church Woolston SO19 9BD. You are
invited to Mass & a Concert of Irish Music, Dance and
Poetry at 6pm. All are welcome. You may like to wear
or bring something Irish. Bring food to share
afterwards. Contact: Fr. Claro Conde, 07803 191 502
Let our prayer be that we never cause the Lord to be
angry with us. Let us try to put Jesus first in our lives. If
we do this, we will naturally be doing our very best not to
let sin enter our lives and ‘defile’ the temple of our
hearts or bodies.
CRAFT GROUP Thurs 19th March 2-4pm
If we should fall (and fall we will, as we are human &
weak), let us have the courage and the humility to
confess (testify) to our sins and be reconciled with the
Lord and, through the Church, reconciled with our
neighbour. Don’t sit on anger & resentment as it will
lead you to more hurt & bitterness. Rather lift your PLEASE PRAY FOR THE EVANGELISATION STRATEGY TEAM
hearts to the Lord and your mouth will naturally ring out

ALPHA VISION & TRAINING
Sat 28th March 10am-2pm
at Bishop Challoner School, Basingstoke
A training day with Michael Roche from Alpha in a
Catholic Context. The day includes an intro to Alpha
in a Catholic Context, Principles of Alpha, Intro to
Small Groups and prayer ministry followed by a lunch
and a concluding session on where do we go from
here. All welcome. To book your place, please email
[email protected].
Fr John would be delighted if parishioners would
consider attending this, with a view to helping start
Alpha (in a Catholic context) for our community. Alpha
is an introduction to a relationship with Jesus, for
those who are at a basic enquiry level. It is a great
tool for Evangelisation, that could be a useful method
of outreach and invitation to sharing our faith. Please
let us know if you’d be interested in attending this day.

Team - due to start shortly, I pray you will listen to the
quiet promptings of the Holy Spirit, the calling of your
heart, and have the courage to give it a go. If we, the
Lord’s Church, His disciples here & now, don’t spread

applied to Jesus, “Zeal for your house will consume
me.” What can you do, especially during the gracefilled Lenten and Easter seasons, to increase your
own zeal for the things of God, and for God’s people
and his Church?
