Family Hobby Show At American Legion In Keene Sunday, March 8th Coins, Comic Book, Sports Card, Postcard Show The Tri Town Collectors Club will hold a Coin, Comic Book, Sports Card, and Postcard Show at the Keene American Legion at 797 Court Street on Sunday, March 8th from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. After canceling last month’s show due to snow, there will be many dealers and collectors from the tristate area ready to meet for a daylong series of hobby activities packed with fun for the whole family. Besides coins, currency, comic books, and sports cards, there will be a special quiz for collectors at the coin club table. Anyone reaching into the collectable grab bag and selecting a free Indian Head cent or Buffalo nickel will be able to double their prize if they can say who was president in the year the coin was minted. The Indian Head cents were issued from 1859 to 1909, while the Buffalo nickels were released from 1913 to 1938. There will be other door prizes available for hobbyists of all ages. The show is held in Keene on the second Sunday of the month. This month, three new coin collectors will be present, including a dealer from the new Claremont Coin Shop. There will be collectors with a large selection of vintage comic books and sports cards. Highlighted this month will be a collector of many sports autographs, including baseballs from the 1950s Brooklyn Dodgers and New York Yankees as well as other vintage autographs. There is no admission charge; anyone wishing to set up a card table to sell at no charge may do so by calling Joe Fuller at 802-297-1274. CCSSEF 30/30 Gun Raffle Underway Cheshire County Shooting Sports Education Foundation (CCSSEF), in collaboration with Riley’s Sports Shop in Hooksett, has a 30/30 Gun Raffle fund-raising event underway. Each day during the month of June, there will be a drawing for a gun. The grand prize is valued at $1159. Sold ticket stubs – including previous winning tickets – will be included in each day’s drawing, CCSSEF, PO Box 1327, Keene, NH 03431. Ticket sales will end on Friday, May 15th or when all tickets have been sold out; a maximum of 1000 tickets will be sold.
