PERPETUAL TROPHIES
The Pat Kearney Perpetual Best in Show Trophy - The Family of Pat Kearney
offers in her memory a perpetual trophy to be awarded to the winner of Best in Show on
Saturday, May 9, 2015. Pat Kearney was a founding member of the Arnprior Canine
Association, long time Show Chairman, and driving force in the club. A Keeper Trophy will be
awarded to the winner.
Best in Sweepstake - The Schlievert Family will present the Mell Schlievert Memorial
Trophy in Memory of Mell Schlievert. A Keeper Trophy will be presented to the winner.
CANCELLATION OF ENTRIES
Chapter 13, Section 10 of the Dog Show Rules State:
An exhibitor has the right to withdraw an entry. Notice of withdrawal must be in writing and received by the
Show Secretary on or before the official closing date as published in the premium list.
MOVING A DOG TO THE SPECIALS CLASS
Chapter 13, Section 13, of the dog show rules has been amended to allow a dog which is “INDIVIDUALLY
REGISTERED AT TIME OF CLOSING” in the records of the Canadian Kennel Club, and has completed the
requirements of a Championship, after the closing date for entries for a show, may be transferred from one
of the regular classes to “Specials Only”, providing the request for transfer is submitted to the Show
Secretary in WRITING at least ONE HOUR PRIOR TO THE OPENING OF THE SHOW by the owner or
handler.

Judging of the sweepstake will commence at approximately 12:00 noon, however if necessary
a later starting time may be announced for one or more of the rings. Within each group,
puppies will be judged in order of age class, sexes combined:
6 - 9 months; 9 - 12 months; 12 - 18 months
All puppies between the age of 6 and 18 months on the day of the sweepstake are eligible to
compete, regardless of place of birth. All puppies entered in the sweepstake must be entered
in one of the official regular classes of the breed show that day. Money received as entry fee
for the sweepstake will be pooled and divided as follows:
1st in each class
2nd in each class
3rd in each class
4th in each class
- 25% of entry fee received for that class.
- 20% of entry fee received for that class.
- 15% of entry fee received for that class.
- 10% of entry fee received for that class.
Best in Sweepstake: Rosette and 10% of All Sweepstake entry fees.
The remaining fees will be retained by the club to cover administration cost.
NEW EXHIBITOR ORIENTATION
On Saturday morning, May 9, 2015, members of the Arnprior Canine Association will
offer a 30 minute seminar to novice exhibitors, explaining show procedures, ring
procedures, general show etiquette, a glimpse into the the show world. Interested
exhibitors are asked to contact Joe Panaro, [email protected] to confirm
attendance.
Exact time will be announced in the judging schedule.

motel property! Please co-operate so that local motels will accept our exhibitors and their dogs again next
year.
Non-Member Participation Fee
The Non-Member Participation Fee applies to dogs wholly owned by a resident of Canada who
is not a member of the CKC; it is not applicable to CKC members or dogs co-owned with a
CKC member. In order for the title to be awarded, the non-member will have a choice to either
become a CKC member or pay the Non-Member Participation Fee. Failure to comply within
30 days of notification will result in the title being withheld and the dog cannot be moved up to
the next level. (For a Membership application, please go to www.ckc.ca under CKC Services
and Forms On-Line). The Non-Member Participation Fee is fee paid in the calendar year
(January – December) in which the dog achieved its title and/or titles.

Through the generosity of Members and friends, the ECDC will offer suitable trophies and
rosettes for Best in Specialty, Best of Opposite Sex in Specialty, Best Puppy in Specialty, Best
Veteran in Specialty Best of Breed, Best of Opposite Sex in Breed, Best Puppy in Breed, Best
of Winners, Winners. Rosettes will be offered for 1st in Veterans Classes, Reserve Winners
and Winners of each Non-regular Class.
Award of Merit rosettes will be offered in each breed for which the numbers warrant under Dog
Show Rules. It shall be at the sole discretion of the judge to present such an award to any
exhibit in the Specials Class considered to be of outstanding quality that has not been awarded
Best of Breed nor Best of Opposite Sex.

All dogs between the ages of 3 and 18 months on the day of the Specialty shall be eligible to
compete regardless of place of birth. All dog entered in the sweepstakes must be also entered
in a regular class at this Specialty. Money received as entry fee for the sweepstake will be

of Canada is pleased to offer trophies and rosettes for the following: Best of Breed, Best of

Select Bitch, Winners Dog, Winners Bitch and Best Veteran. Rosettes will be offered for

Award of Merit: At the judge’s discretion, a trophy and rosette may be offered for every ten
dogs competing at the Best of Breed level.
PERPETUAL TROPHIES
Best In Specialty - The Holweit Challenge Trophy
A Bronze Study of Ch.Holweit’s Robin the Bank, mounted on an oak base, to be awarded to
the Best of Breed Winner at the Soft-Coated Wheaten Terrier Association of Canada’s National
Specialty. The winner will be presented with a Commemorative Study. For permanent
possession the trophy shall be won six times by the same owner, not necessarily with the
same dog. The trophy is to remain in the possession of Sylvia and Bill Hamilton or their
designate until retired. A small keeper trophy for the Best in Specialty will be provided to the
winner.

1. Building will accept dogs and equipment after 5:00 pm Thursday up until 11:00 pm
2. Building will open at 7:00 am Friday, Saturday and Sunday and close at 11:00 pm on
Friday and Saturday. Exhibitors must vacate the building 1 hour after Best in Show on
Sunday.
3. Intransit area available.
4. ALL EXERCISE PENS MUST HAVE PLASTIC SHEETING UNDERNEATH AND UP THE
SIDES. IF SPACE IS LIMITED, EXERCISE PENS WILL HAVE TO BE TAKEN DOWN
DURING SHOW HOURS as requested by the Show Superintendent.
5. To comply with instructions issued by the Canadian Kennel Club, we will be unable to
accept entries reaching the Show Secretary after the official closing date as published in
this premium list.
6. No entry will be accepted unless all particulars called for on the entry form are shown
thereon. INCOMPLETE ENTRIES WILL BE RETURNED. NO ENTRY WILL BE
ACCEPTED UNLESS ACCOMPANIED BY ENTRY FEES.
7. TELEPHONE ENTRIES CANNOT BE ACCEPTED.
8. DIANA EDWARDS SHOW SERVICES, reserves the right to refuse any entry, subject to
CKC Dog Show Rules.
9. Identification cards and judging schedule will be mailed as soon as possible after entries
close.
10. The person accompanying the dog must show the Identification Card before the dog is
allowed in the show, and unless a dog is entered officially, it will not be allowed in the show
precincts.
11. It is the responsibility of the exhibitor to have the dog at ringside when the dog’s class is
scheduled for judging.
12. Diana Edwards Show Services and the Show Committee will use due care and diligence
for the welfare of dogs and exhibitors, but will not be responsible for, or assume any
liability in the event of an accident, or misfortune, to either dogs, exhibitors or patrons.
13. Conflicts between Dog Show Rules and the New Breed Standards. The Board of Directors
of the CKC, has ruled that where a conflict arises between the Breed Standards and the
Dog Show Rules that the Dog Show Rules will take precedence.
14. Exhibitors must abide by errors made in entering their dogs regardless of how or by whom
the entry was made. Changes or cancellation of any entry after closing date is prohibited.
15. All dogs mut be exercised in the exercise pens provided for that purpose. Exhibitors are
responsible for cleaning up after their dogs in any location within the building or on the
grounds.
16. If because of riots, civil disturbance or other acts beyond the control of the management;
it is impossible to open or complete the show, no refund of entry fee will be made.
17. To avoid noise and confusion, there will be no individual dogs called to the ring by
loudspeaker. Delays waiting for dogs will not be possible and handlers with several
breeds must arrange for alternate handlers if judging times for their breeds conflict.
18. Showers available from 7:00 - 9:00 am.
19. Ch 8, Section 2, of CSR states “An error in the age specified class, the date of birth, or
sex, may be amended on the entry form up to one hour before the start of the show”.

SECTION 1: A dog awarded WINNERS at a championship show held under these Dog Show
Rules shall be credited with a number of championship points (ranging from 0 to 5) and the
determination of the number of championship points to be credited to a dog awarded
WINNERS shall be as provided hereunder.

To determine the numbers of championship points earned by a dog awarded WINNERS total
all the dogs in competition which the dog defeated, directly or indirectly, for the highest of the

A class dog awarded Best In Show at an all-breed championship show will be credited with five
points inclusive of any points earned at the breed or group level. In no case may a dog earn
more than five points at any single show.

To obtain an ERN simply do the following:
Send a photocopy of the dog's registration certificate reflecting current ownership with a written request for an ERN.
Include full payment in the amount of $57.60 plus applicable tax. Accounts may be
paid with personal or business cheque, money order, Visa or Mastercard. For NonMembers please note that if paying by cheque, the cheque must be certified. Nonresidents of Canada please note that discounted cheques or money orders will not
be accepted due to fluctuating currency rates.

There are 3 private grooming rooms available for handlers with a minimum of 6 dogs.
Handlers may combine dogs in order to share room. A housekeeping deposit of $50.00 is
