Heritage Museum of Montgomery County Scholarship

Amount: $1,000

Info/Qualifications/Criteria: Candidates must be active in at least one civic or educational
organization. Candidates must have at least a 2.5 GPA (4.0 scale) and be in good standing with
their high schools. Candidates must plan to attend an accredited institute of higher learning
within the United States. Candidates must plan to enroll as full-time students and pursue a two or
four year degree. Candidates must plan to major in a degree of museum studies (history,
archaeology, library science, art history, genealogy) or an interrelated field applicable to museum
operations. Finalists must plan to attend an orientation meeting and to serve as Intern a minimum
of 10 volunteer hours at the Heritage Museum (will be explained at the orientation meeting).
Finalists must be willing to participate in an interview with the Heritage Museum of Montgomery

TTA Foundation Scholarship

Amount: (6) $1,500
 Info/Qualifications/Criteria: : To submit a complete application, please follow these instructions:
Complete the official application form. Attach a current official transcript to the application
form. Attach a letter of acceptance from the Texas college or university you will be attending in
Fall 2015 (If you have not yet received an acceptance letter, please indicate the name of the
school you are planning to attend, and forward your acceptance to TTAF as soon as you receive
it.) Include a copy of your SAR (Student Aid Report). To obtain your SAR complete a FAFSA
(Free Application for Federal Student Aid) form on-line at www.fafsa.ed.gov/complete001.htm.

 Info/Qualifications/Criteria: Applicants must be a graduating high school senior from a public,
private or home school with plans to pursue a post-secondary education; be a member in good
standing of a Montgomery County 4H Club (EXCEPTION: Grounds Maintenance Conference and
Steel Magnolias EEA Club); Have been an active 4H member for the past three years
(EXCEPTION: Horse project is 2 years); provide a proof of entry into college or university of
his/her choice before payment will be made.
Montgomery County Association of Business Women Scholarship

Amount: $1,000

Info/Qualifications/Criteria: Female high school senior applicants must live in Montgomery
County and plan to pursue a degree at a college or university in Texas. Scholarships will be
awarded based on academic performance (minimum 3.0 GPA), leadership, community/school
involvement, and employment. In addition to their regular scholarship criteria, MCABW is
partnering with The Breast Cancer Charities of America to offer a scholarship to five girls who
have a mother or grandmother living in their household who has been diagnosed with breast
cancer in the past 12 months. They also must meet the other criteria specified on the application.

North Harris/Montgomery Counties Desk and Derrick Club Scholarship

Amount: (10) $1,000

Info/Qualifications/Criteria: Students must be in the top 15% of their class and be majoring in
petroleum, energy, or allied industry-related field; i.e., engineering, geology, chemistry, physics,
computers, mathematics, environmental, etc., that would be of benefit to their future in the
petroleum, energy, or allied industry. Medical, Business Administration, Teaching, Nursing, etc.,
will not be considered.
Gullo Dealerships Scholarship

Amount: (multiple) $1,500

Info/Qualifications/Criteria: Applicant must be a graduating senior of MHS. Eligibility
requirements include: Applicant must maintain a cumulative minimum GPA of 2.6 or higher in high
school course work; High school transcript through Fall 2014 is required; must attend an
accredited 4-year college, 2-year community college, trade or vocational school.
Montgomery County Choral Society Scholarship

Amount: $1,000

Info/Qualifications/Criteria: Each year the Montgomery County Choral Society offers a $1,000
college scholarship to a graduating senior from any high school in Montgomery County. They are
seeking applications from those students who have made a significant contribution to his/her high
school choral program and desire to major in vocal/choral music at the college of their choice.
Montgomery High School Local Scholarship

Amount: Multiple

Info/Qualifications/Criteria: Must be a graduating senior of Montgomery High School.
SFA Smith-Hutson Scholarship

Amount: up to $17,500

Info/Qualifications/Criteria: Smith-Hutson Scholarships are intended for entering freshmen
with established financial need and academic potential who are seeking an undergraduate
degree from Stephen F. Austin State University. Taking into account other scholarships that
the student may receive and the student’s and parents’ financial resources, the Smith-Hutson
Scholarship typically provides sufficient assistance to cover tuition, books, fees, and reasonable
living expenses on campus. Students remain eligible to receive a Smith-Hutson Scholarship for a
maximum of four years of undergraduate studies, provided the recipient maintains a cumulative
grade point average (GPA) at SFA of at least a 2.5 and complete a minimum of 30 semester credit
hours toward their degree each academic year.
Young American Creative Patriotic Art Awards

Amount: 1st $10,000, 2nd $5,000, 3rd $2,500, 4th $1,500, 5th-8th $500

Info/Qualifications/Criteria: This national contest is sponsored by the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and
is open to students in grades 9-12. Applicants must submit a piece of art on paper or canvas that

Max W Schlotter Scholarship
 Amount: (2) $1,000

Info/Qualifications/Criteria: The Max W. Schlotter Scholarship, in the amount of $1000, will be
awarded to two Region 6 graduating seniors (December 2014 or May 2015) who plan to major in
education. The students must pursue an education in a Texas college or university. Additional
Requirements: One letter of recommendation from a teacher/administrator of applicant’s choice

Mid-South Synergy Scholarship

Amount: multiple $1,000

Info/Qualifications/Criteria: Mid-South Synergy awards numerous scholarships worth $1,000.00
each year to area high school seniors who are members of Mid-South Synergy. The money that
funds their scholarship program comes from unclaimed capital credits that are returned to them
each year by the State of Texas. Application is available at

ELIGIBILITY:
1. Parent or Legal Guardian must be a Mid-South Synergy member or current Mid-South
Synergy employee.





Info/Qualifications/Criteria: This scholarship is available to students of North Montgomery
County who reside in an area serviced by Conroe HS, Montgomery HS, Willis HS or Caney Creek
HS. Your residency will be determined by the address on your high school transcript. The primary
criteria for selection are school and community service, academic achievement, and financial need.
Applicants must be of sound moral character and have maintained at least a "B" average.

North Shore Republican Women Scholarship
 Amount: $1,000

Info/Qualifications/Criteria: Members of the NSRW are offering a scholarship of $1,000.00 to
a senior high school female. This scholarship is designed to provide financial support for college
expenses to a young woman who plans to be or is involved with the Republican Party.
North Montgomery County Retired Teachers Association Scholarship
 Amount: $700-$1,000

Info/Qualifications/Criteria: Must be a graduating senior with at least a “B” average what would
like to make teaching a career.
Marine Corps League Eastex Detachment #779 – Larry Rutledge USMC Scholarship
 Amount: $2,000

Info/Qualifications/Criteria: To grant scholarships to qualified applicants in order of preference
and need as follows:
