to mention the city of my current job because I want to
be as anonymous as possible. What I mean by that is this:
the pharmacy world is a small world. Pharmacy managers
know each other, even at different companies. I’m sure it’s
not supposed to happen, but if a pharmacy manager looks
through applications and he or she sees that an employee
of one of their pharmacy manager friends is applying for
another job, that information might come up when the
pharmacy managers get together to socialize. If that did
happen and I was adversely affected, I would have no way of
proving it.

Thanks for your inquiry. I understand
the pharmacy circle is small, but most
companies want you to apply online for employment
so you may just have to take some risks. If you do, be
sure to mark all applications, “do not contact current
employer.”
Another option to consider is to submit anonymous
applications to companies that have advertised a
position. Whether the application is online or not,
you can often determine the company’s address to
mail or drop off your resume.
Concealing your identity is not misleading, if you
are doing so for an appropriate reason. Just be
sure to include a few sentences in your cover letter
explaining that you are currently employed and that
you would greatly appreciate the employer/recruiter
maintains your anonymity. Remove the typical header
found atop most resumes that contains personal
contact information. Replace this with a generic, yet
professional email address that does not contain
your name and/or a temporary phone number. List
previous company names you’ve worked for as
“confidential” as well as the name of your school(s)
(e.g. Confidential Pharmaceutical Company).
Having a Plan B for employment is always the best
plan.

Territory Service Representatives are responsible for servicing residential and/or commercial customers, providing professional turf and/or

QUALIFICATIONS: WE ARE LOOKING FOR HIGHLY MOTIVATED INDIVIDUALS WHO MEET THE FOLLOWING:
EDUCATION: High School graduate • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in agronomics preferred
EXPERIENCE: • One to three years experience as lawn specialist is preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of customer service principles. • Strong verbal and written communication skills including correct use of grammar.
• Strong customer service skills. • Able and willing to work outside in a variety of weather conditions (cold, hot, wet, etc.).
• Able to lift up to 70 pounds. • Must have valid driver’s license to operate company vehicle. Must be able to be insured
by Scotts in accordance with Vehicle Safety Policy. • Must be able to write and speak English fluently.
• Able to work in a results-oriented and high-pressure work environment.
