Let me explain. When Arlinda and I were checking in with Lufthansa Airlines to fly out of Israel at 2:45 a.m. on February 27, our luggage was not tagged. Therefore, when we arrived in Atlanta 20 hours later our luggage wasn’t on our plane. It was still in Tel Aviv. It took six days for it to catch up and we are grateful to Lufthansa for their cooperation and diligence to locate our luggage and get it to us. It was personally delivered last Thursday evening at 10:05. Arlinda was very excited about it, as you ladies can imagine. Something else caught up with me and that was my soul. My body landed in Atlanta and arrived in Prattville a few hours later that Friday evening. But with jet lag and exhaustion it felt like my soul didn’t catch up for a few days. In other words, it took a few days to “feel” whole again, to “feel” like myself. I think many of us live such a fast-paced, hectic life that we out pace our spirits and souls, so to speak. Our bodies arrive first, but something of ourselves lags behind. This may be one of the many reasons God gave a commandment to have a Sabbath rest, one day to let our spirit and soul catch up to the body for rest and worship. Let me suggest you give some thought to this idea. Have you been feeling out of sorts lately? Maybe it is because you have not rested and worshipped as God commanded. Let’s get our body, soul and spirit in sync. God will be most grateful. Travis March is Our Month to Help with Meals on Wheels! We need two volunteers each weekday during the month of March to help deliver prepared meals to shut-ins in our community. Volunteers should report to the Gillespie Center on their delivery day between11:00 and 11:15 a.m. A sign-up calendar is located across from the elevator near the Chapel. Gillespie Center Frozen Meals Ministry Volunteers are needed to help cook and prepare meals for freezing for 19 individuals who are outside of the Meals on Wheels delivery area. Each person receives five meals a week, for a total of 95 meals. Meals are cooked in a volunteer’s home and brought to the Gillespie Center for packaging and freezing.
