March 2015
The next Board of Directors
Meeting is: Monday March 9, 2015 @ 7:00 pm in the Clubhouse.
The Blue Water Junior Competition Division has hit pay dirt
once again. On the 6th and 7th of February, Amelia Dell,
Brandon Mach, Colton Peters and Niles Woycehowski traveled to Toronto Canada to compete in the 33rd Canadian
Airgun Grand Prix.
The CAGP is a truly international competition with shooters
from the States, Canada, Chile and Europe. The BWSA
Juniors competed against former Olympians and Canadian
Military Cadets firing two International Air Rifle matches
which is 60 shots standing in 90 minutes (40 shots for
women) with great results. Colton Peters and Brandon
Mach finished 4th and 5th respectively in their age category
just missing out on a medal while Amelia Dell brought home
a Bronze Medal for her 3rd place finish, missing Silver by
only 6 points. She and her teammate from upstate New
York missed a 3rd place medal by only 3 points. Niles Woycehowski had a tougher match, competing in a higher age
group against more experienced shooters.
The Junior Competition Division is proving to be a steady force in matches in Michigan and now internationally.
Amelia Dell (pictured), takes aim during a match at the Canadian Airgun Grand Prix in Toronto, early February. She
earned a Bronze Medal for her 3rd place finish in her age category.

Hi-Power Division News
Welcome Hi Power Rifle Shooters! Our next match/shoot date is set for Saturday March 14. As with most of our
winter matches we’ll meet up in the club house around 8:30am. A safety brief will occur at 9:00 and shooting will
start afterwards. We now shoot all of our winter steel target matches from the 600 yard line and we place targets at
various distances. This way everyone can shoot at whatever distance they want. We also have some interesting
and optional competition stages set up for those who want a challenge. We shoot in all weather conditions, even a
blizzard, (but not lightning storms) so come on out and test those guns. Everyone is welcome to shoot regardless
of what type of gun you shoot. Recommended equipment includes a shooting mat and a spotting scope if you’re
using iron sights. Dress for the weather!! Remember our Facebook page: BWSA Long Range / Hi-Power Division
Get up to date match/shoot info here and don’t forget to “like” us so you get all the posts.
Always check the BWSA calendar for possible date changes or cancellations. Any questions, please feel free to
contact me, Derek, at 313-407-4284 or [email protected]
See you all on the firing line!
COMBAT NEWS: Combat shooters are on the inside range every Thursday.
Start time is 6:45pm till 9:15pm.
If you are interested in keeping your pistol skills sharp, getting the kinks worked out for that new gun, or just some
friendly competition, come on out and have some fun. Holster and mag pouches are mandatory.

.22 Rimfire Skirmishes are still going strong!!
You only have 2 chances left to try out this fun event. March 7th & April 4th. Bring your .22 Rimfire with iron sights
(no scopes) and come break some targets. As in the past, all ages and ALL SKILL LEVELS are invited to join in
the fun. It’s all happening on the indoor range.
The schedule is as follows: 10-10:30am show up in the clubhouse basement, sign in, and pay.
10:30-11:00am Teams are picked by lottery and the first set of targets are put up.
11:00am until done (usually around 2pm) we will shoot 5 to 7 different timed team events. (Very fun.)
Trophies will be awarded to the top 3 teams.
If you have any questions about this event, you may call Mike Zandarski @ 586-739-6499
Bullseye Shooters
We are still downstairs on Wednesday nights shooting 900 NRA bullseye matches. We have been shooting primarily 50
feet, but occasionally we change it up and shoot at 25 yards. Since it has been getting colder, we have been stoking up
the fireplace so we can sit in front of the fire before and after the shoot. We still have room on the firing line for a few more
shooters, so come on down and have some fun. The weather on the range is 75 degrees, which is a lot better than the
weather out in the back ranges. So instead of sitting at home watching the snow fly, come on down and put some holes in
a target or two. Bullseye will be ending its indoor shooting season on March 25th, taking the spring and summer off to enjoy some shooting on our outdoor ranges and do some renovations on the indoor range. We will be starting up the division
on Sept. 9th. If you have any questions, feel free to give me a call at (810) 531-9900 Dale DeFabio

Hello Skeet Shooters. Enjoying the winter? I am. Don’t let the weather keep you from
shooting and scoring. You’d be surprised at how well you shoot when the weather turns
brutal. Check out the Skeet League tab on the BWSA webpage. The latest scores and
standings are posted. There’s also an explanation of how far you can “shoot ahead”. I had
one of the shooters ask about it and it gave me the opportunity to look into it and clarify it.
If you have any thoughts or concerns, don’t be afraid to bring it to my attention. This is
how we improve the league over time. I appreciate your ideas and concerns. The 3rd 100
scores are due to be shot by close of business March 8th. So get out to the club and put
some lead in the air. Shoot straight, shoot often.

Muzzleloaders
Hello fellow shooters. I’m still trying to thaw out my finger from shooting in January and
February! I sure hope March starts giving us a break. Might not be enough time to join
our league but you can always join us on a league shoot day and shoot with us and have
lunch with us. On March 8th we shoot a paper woodchuck and on March 22nd we have a
novelty match with breakables and metal clangers. It just costs $3.00 for members and
$10 for non-members. I’m sure the weather will be reasonable, so join us on one or both
shoot dates. Any kind of muzzleloader will do, traditional, modern rifles or even pistols.
Break that cabin fever and have a good time and a good hot lunch! See you on Homer’s
Range (Range # 4) out back.
