The University has limited funds for assisting students to finance their university studies.
We are therefore grateful to those donors who give money to the University for this
purpose and to those who provide their own financial aid programmes
The University has made every effort to ensure the accuracy of the information in its
handbooks. However, we reserve the right at any time, if circumstances dictate, to (i)
make alterations or changes to any of the published details of the opportunities on offer;
or (ii) add to or withdraw any of the opportunities on offer. Our students are given every
assurance that changes to opportunities will only be made under compelling
circumstances and students will be fully informed as soon as possible

PROGRESS REPORTS AND RESULTS REQUIRED BY EXTERNAL SPONSORS AND SCHOLARSHIP/ BURSARY
GRANTING AGENCIES
If you hold an outside award, where the sponsor requires the University to submit an
academic progress report or your final results for the year, you must complete the
relevant section on your Registration Form when you register each year. It is important
to fill in the full name and address of the sponsor. If you are awarded an outside bursary
or scholarship after registration, you must advise the Student Fees Office, Kramer Law
Building before mid-May of the name and address to which a progress report should be
sent. It is your responsibility to ensure that your sponsor obtains your progress reports
or results. If you forget, your award may not be renewed.
UNDERGRADUATE AWARDS
The University administers a large number of awards, many of which have been
established through the generosity of past and present donors.
SCHOLARSHIP DONORS
As a tribute to them and for your interest, we list Undergraduate Scholarships and
Bursaries by name. If you are found eligible, your particulars will automatically be
matched to the conditions of each vacant award. Exceptions which require specific
application forms are indicated with an asterisk. Their closing dates and conditions are
publicised on notice boards in the academic and residence buildings.

UCT FINANCIAL AID DONORS
The University would like to thank the following donors listed for their continued
support for financially needy students. The University allocates significant funds on an
annual basis for bursary funding for financially needy students; however, the demand is
far greater than the funds available. With the generous donations of these donors, it has
been possible to assist more students than would otherwise have been possible.
