President’ Roundup
Dave Blyth gave a very interesting and educational talk about Google
and a brief history of his life before computers. Judging by the
questions and feed back, Dave could have talked for another hour, but
Mike Groome was waiting in the wings to update us on the Taupo/
Wellington flight service that we lose with Air New Zealand mid April
this year.
The main concern of our extended Rotary evening was Tom Orr getting
home before dark. Tom’s smart new wheels have no lights! He
obviously made it home in time.
Congratulations to Expresso on a very successful Lake Taupo Across

the Lake swim! Numbers were up with 380 swimmers participating.
Next week we have a very special guest joining us with Graham Hall,
Toby Joll. Toby is one of only three young New Zealand cadets who will
travel to Gallipoli for this year’s centenary with the NZ Defence Force in
April. Toby was chosen for the trip due to being a shining example to
others. So do hope you can all make it along next week.
