The Civil Engineering Department was founded in 2008 to address the
increasing demand for skilled engineering professionals in Afghanistan.
The Department focuses on major subdivisions of civil engineering, including:
Structural
Geotechnical
Environmental
Construction
Hydrology and Hydraulics
Transportation
Geomatics
Program Overview
The Bachelor of Civil Engineering (BCE) is a credit-based program to be completed over a four year period on a full time
basis. Students are required to complete minimum 138 credits in order to qualify for graduation. Around 350 students,
including women, are pursuing BCE degree at Kardan University. 142 students have successfully graduated from Bachelor
of Civil Engineering.
Around 350 students are enrolled in the Civil
Engineering Department, pursuing credit-based
courses across the civil engineering sub-divisions.

Engineering Department has grown exponentially over the years

competitive engineering departments in Afghanistan.
Civil Engineering is a professional engineering discipline that
deals with design, construction, and maintenance of the physical
and naturally built environment, including works like roads,
bridges, canals, dams and buildings.
The Civil Engineering degree represents the first step towards
professional certification and advanced academic study in
multiple sub - fields. Civil engineers work in fast - paced,
challenging and rewarding professions around the world. You
could be involved at all levels of project
design,
implementation and follow up.
Admission Requirements
Prospective students are required to be at least high school
graduates. Professionals and diploma program graduates (12
grade and above) are highly encouraged to apply. Admission to
the bachelor program will be subject to Kardan University’s entry
test and interview results.
