Colombia – Escobedo Gas Pipeline
Colombia – Escobedo pipeline will transport natural gas from Webb County, Texas to Mexico. It will
supply natural gas to CFE’s new power generation plants in the State of Nuevo Leon, as well as the
North and Northeast regions.
This pipeline will be interconnected to the National Pipeline System in the State of Nuevo Leon. This
system will supply natural gas to new power generation plants, as well as those currently operating
with fuel oil which will be converted to use natural gas as their base fuel.
Transparencia Mexicana will overview the bidding process in order to comply with the highest
standards of transparency.
Project Details:
The project comprises the design, engineering, procurement, construction,
operating and maintenance of a pipeline with capacity up to 505 million cubic
feet per day (MMCFD). However, the developer will have the option of calling
for an open season after the CFE award to oversize the pipeline if the market
The pipeline will have 250 kilometers long and a 42-inch diameter at least to
supply CFE’s needs.
The estimated project implementation time is 24 months.
