Pastor Doug
Our focus today is on Lust & Greed and their Cures—
Self-Control & Generosity
Litany
Responsively
Bear spiritual fruit in all that you do:
love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity,
faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
There is no law against such things.
And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh
with its passions and desires.
If we live by the Spirit,
let us also be guided by the Spirit.

Come on out and help to support
our youth with their upcoming trip to Orlando, Flor ida this
summer! We are heading to the National Youth Convention for the
United Methodist Church and we need to raise some funds to get
all our amazing kids down there! It’s going to be a tremendous
experience for all of them to learn more about their faith and grow
into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ!
Check out the bulletin insert for all the details!
Mission of the Month: The Mission of STOP
Hunger Now is “to end hunger in our lifetime
by providing food and life-saving aid to the
world’s most vulnerable and by creating a global
commitment to mobilize the necessary
resources.” Over the past two years we have
raised over $5,000.00 to end hunger in our world. This year we
hope to raise $3,750 which would pack 12,931 meals. We will pack
meals on Sunday, April 19th during both services! You will read
more about how to participate in this event in the April Newsletter.
P.S. we hope you will consider donating one dollar a day to STOP
HUNGER NOW (that is $40 throughout Lent) to help feed hungry
children in need.
Make your plans now to get away with an
AMAZING group of gals when we go to Camp
Overlook on March 27-28. We'll be resting and
relaxing and remembering what it's like to
laugh. Our theme for the retreat is "Love and
Laughter" and there will certainly be plenty of
food since we're all bringing our favorite snacks along. The cost is
only $45! That's cheaper than a therapist! Call the church office at
337-2980 right now and make your reservation!
Join the Visitation Team! Come to a meeting this Wednesday,
March 18th at 1:30 pm in the Louise Diehl room and learn how
you can brighten someone’s day with a visit. All are invited! Please
talk to Linda Warren at 886–4908 for more information.
Are you an older elementary student or a middle
schooler? We would love for you to be a part of
our Acolyte Team! We will host a training for this
awesome opportunity to serve Christ on Sunday
March 29, at 10 am in the Sanctuary! We have a
training manual for you as well as a certificate and
an Acolyte Cross as a gift for your service to your church! Please talk
to Suzan Howell or Scarlett Danraj for more information.
Give the Gift of Life! Calvar y will host an Amer ican Red Cr oss
Blood Drive on Friday, March 20th from Noon - 6 pm in the Fellowship
Hall. Volunteers are needed to make and serve snacks. Talk to Gene or
Susan Kane at 540-337-2569 if you are able to help
Monday Morning Reflections: Tomor r ow our guests will be
Amanda Glover, Augusta County’s Director of Economic
Development, and Carolyn Bragg. Board of Supervisors representing
Stuarts Draft. Join us at 10:00 am in the Fellowship Hall.
If you are interested in sharing your gift or developing a gift in
operating our Power Point screens on Sunday morning...or to be trained
in serving as our Sound Technician, please talk to Pastor Doug.
Join the SEEKERS Sunday School Class each Sunday starting
TODAY (new start date) for a 10-12 week study on the Book of
Revelation. Each Sunday we will watch a 30 minute video and then have
class discussion to help understand this awesome book. All are welcome
to attend. Visit our classroom over the next several
Sundays to see the wall and bulletin board charts
being used in this study. Questions - call Leon or
Jackie Franklin 540-836-7236 or 540-836-7364.
