Congratulations to the Jr. Girls Soccer team who won both of their Ice Breaker games yesterday 5-0 and 3-0. 12. The next Comox Valley Blood Donor Clinic is happening March 31 - April 2nd at the Florence Filberg Centre in Courtenay. This is the third clinic that counts toward the 2015 Comox Valley Secondary School Challenge. Isfeld is currently in second place and falling further behind Vanier for overall donations in 2015. Staff, students, friends and family are invited to donate blood on behalf of Isfeld Secondary School. The winning school will receive $150 at the end of the challenge. Member registration forms are available on the school website or in the Work Experience Office. Blood donors must indicate their preferred school in a sign-in binder at the blood clinic. The Comox Valley Curling Club is looking for volunteers to help serve lunch and clean up at the JamCan Bonspiel on Saturday, March 28 and Sunday, March 29 for 1.5 hours each day. Please contact Mickey Colburn at 250-338-2287 for more information. 2. St. John Ambulance is looking for 24 volunteers to act as casualty victims at the A.J. Taylor First Aid Competition on Saturday, May 2. Volunteers will simulate fake injuries from small wounds to amputation/severe bleeding injuries. Lunch will be provided for all volunteers. For more information please contact the Work Experience Office. 3. The Courtenay Gem and Mineral club is looking for 4-6 volunteers on April 18 and 19 to help out with kitchen duties, children’s activity centres and general clean up. Help is needed in four hour shifts from 9:15-1:15 and 1:00-5:00 both days. A meal will be provided for volunteers. For more information or to sign up please contact the Work Experience Office. 4. First Credit Union and Insurance in partnership with the Comox Valley Secondary High Schools is offering a #CULEAD Young Leaders Program for up to three graduating grade 12 students. This program gives students practical work experience and mentoring in the area of business. Upon successful completion of the program students will receive a cash scholarship of $1200.
