A tremendous amount of time was spent organizing this event and it was a terrific day for everyone! A big thank you to all the students who helped out with our visiting grade 7 students yesterday. Today in Block A all grade 12 students will be attending a mandatory ICBC assembly in the large gym. A PA call at the end of morning advisor will call grade 12 students to the gym. STUDENTS The Interact Club Benefit Concert with silent auction is tomorrow night! There is an excellent line up of performers! Tickets will be on sale today at lunch outside the main office. $7.00 for adults and $5.00 for students. All performers in the Interact Club Benefit Concert are asked to attend a brief meeting today at lunch in the Dome. Any students who are interested in taking Criminology, Psychology or English first-year university courses (dual credit) at Frances Kelsey next year and who haven’t yet given their names to Mrs. Spencer, should see her in the Career Centre as soon as possible. Today is National Child and Youth Mental Health Day! Once depression is recognized, help can make a difference for 80% of people who are affected, allowing them to get back to their regular activities. Current Grade 11 students who are interested in taking university dual credit courses at VIU during their Grade 12 year, there is a list of courses being offered posted in the Career Centre. Looking for some part-time yard work? Senior in Lovers Lane/Cameron Taggart area looking for help raking, mowing lawns, etc. $10/hour. Must have own transportation or live nearby. Volunteers are still needed for the Bench Elementary Fun Fair on May 29th from 4:00 – 7:30 p.m. Interested in volunteering for the Bench Fun Fair May 29th but don’t have transportation? A shuttle will be available to take students from Frances Kelsey to Bench Elementary. See Mrs. Spencer in the Career Centre for the waiver required to board the shuttle, or to sign up to volunteer. SPORTS All track and field island qualifiers are to attend a brief meeting today at lunch in Room 126. GRADS If you are planning to attend UVic in the fall and want help selecting your courses, there are a few spots available to nd meet with the recruiter on Friday, May 22 .
