Services for a quick/important meeting.
3. Food Safe Students: Last chance to write the food safe exam is today at noon in Room 300.
4. Students going on the French Immersion Europe trip please meet in Room 101 Friday at lunch – la pizza et la
planification pour Paris!
5. The buses will pick up all grade 11 students at 9:00 a.m. Thursday for the NIC open house. Please don’t be late.
6. Grade 12 reminder that the Fill the Truck with Food event is NEXT WEEK! Check out your volunteering time on the
schedule on the wall in the foyer.
7. The year of the sheep will be starting tomorrow and Interact will be having a Luna New Year themed food sale in the
front foyer at lunch today and Friday! Money will go towards children’s education in Tegucigalpa.

RE-RUNS
1. There is still time to put in a team for 5-a-side intramural lunchtime soccer starting later this month. Teams of 7 players,
from all grade levels are invited to enter into the league. See Mr. Bos in the gym for details.
2. Last chance to buy a yearbook! You have until this Friday. $40 to Pat in the office.
3. Any students that were in First Aid last semester and that have not paid for a certificate must do it before Friday if they
want one.
4. Eli Simcoe-Metcalfe, Audrey Lui, Megan Komori-Kennedy, and Karen Cheung: Your OFA Level One certificates are
ready for you to pick up in the Work Experience Office.
CAREER CENTRE/ WORK EXPERIENCE
1. Too Good to Be Threw Thrift Shop in Courtenay is looking for volunteers to help out with sorting, pricing, arranging,
clean up and other duties as required. Please contact the Work Experience Office for more information and to pick up an
application form.
2. The Comox Valley Curling Club is looking for volunteers to help serve lunch and clean up at the JamCan Bonspiel on
Saturday, March 28 and Sunday, March 29 for 1.5 hours each day. Please contact Mickey Colburn at 250-338-2287 for
more information.
3. The next Comox Valley Blood Donor Clinic is happening February 24-26th at the K'omoks Band Hall. This is
the second clinic that counts toward the 2015 Comox Valley Secondary School Challenge. Vanier is currently leading the
challenge after first clinic. Staff, students, friends and family are invited to donate blood on behalf of Isfeld Secondary
School. The winning school will receive $150 at the end of the challenge. Member registration forms are available on the
school website or in the Work Experience Office. Blood donors must indicate their preferred school in a sign-in binder at
the blood clinic. Help support your school by donating blood. It’s in you to give. Call 1-888-2-DONATE (1-888-236-6283).
4. Comox Valley Special Olympics is looking for volunteers to help out as timers at a swim meet on Saturday, March 14th.

GRADE 12 / BURSARIES & SCHOLARSHIPS
1. Grade 12 students: The application for the 2015/2016 Vancouver Island University Entrance Scholarships & Awards is
now available on this website at: https://www2.viu.ca/FinancialAid/applications.asp#ENTRANCE . Interested students
must complete the application on-line, print, sign and submit directly to VIU located in Building 200, Room 205 (VIU Nanaimo Campus) by the March 13, 2015 deadline.
2. Grad photo retakes will take place March 11 in the Multipurpose Room. Go online to www.lifetouch.ca/qualicum to book
your appointment now.
