Dear Parents and Guardians,
In preparation for increasing our school usage of the eCLASS Teacher Course Pages through the
Student Portal, we will be “testing” student access capabilities during the week of April 4th
through April 12th. Our goal is to assure all students have the capability to log in to their course
pages and access/complete an assignment while at home.
Each classroom and special area teacher at our school will be posting a very simple activity via
their eCLASS Teacher Course Page for your child to complete at home. This assignment will be
posted by 4:00 PM on Friday, April 3rd. We request that the activity (or activities) be accessed
and completed during the time frame of April 4th through April 12th, which is Spring Break.
The name of the activity that we would like your student to access is “Student Access Test”.
This activity is posted in the “News” section of the teacher’s course page. Students will be
asked to view a BrainPOP Movie and then answer a Discussion Board question. It is our hope
that the completion rate for students will approach 100%.
Students in grades K-2 will be accessing and completing only one activity posted by his/her
homeroom teacher. Students in grades 3-5 will be accessing two activities, one created by
his/her homeroom teacher and one created by a special area teacher (Art, Music, PE, Science,
Math, or eCLASS Technology). The student may choose which special areas activity they wish
to complete.
While at school, all of our students have accessed their teacher’s eCLASS Course Page and have
answered a Discussion Board question created by their teacher. If your child has any trouble
with the process, you can find a video tutorial on how to access the eCLASS Teacher Course
Pages and navigating to the Student Access Test assignment by visiting our website:
http://www.fergusonelementary.org/home.htm
If your child has trouble accessing his/her teacher course page after following the tutorial,
please email your child’s teacher or the Ferguson Technology Coordinator at
[email protected].
Sincerely,
Angelique Mitchell, Principal
