PRAYER OF CONFESSION (Unison)
Merciful God, as we enter this Holy Week, solemnly gathering at your house of prayer, we turn our
hearts toward Jerusalem, to the peace demonstrated for us and offered to us in the words and deeds, in
the suffering and death of your anointed One. Forgive our stubborn resistance to work and witness;
impel us by your Spirit to follow in his way, until we enter with him into the city not made by human
hands, the new Jerusalem, eternal in the heavens, where we shall ever live to your praise and glory.

From Our Senior Minister...
Hold That Thought…
IF FOR ANY REASON YOU DID NOT RECEIVE YOUR ‘BUILD THE VISION’
CAMPAIGN MATERIALS…
NOT TO WORRY!
Over the last few weeks there has been a good faith attempt to contact our membership with
this vital message for the future of our church. While many of our members were visited in
person, some packets had to be mailed. A handful of folks have been next to impossible to
find! Our goal from the beginning has been to have everyone informed and everyone in
prayer. Still, by now, most of you have received the simple and informative booklet that
describes the campaign. Everything you need to know is included there, including the all
important pledge card.
If you have not received the booklet, please forgive. And please help us put one in your
hands. These brochures are available in both offices, as well as at the entrances for Early
Sabbath and Sunday morning worship services. Or, if you prefer, you can simply call the
church (843-448-4496) and request that one be put in the mail to you. This campaign is truly
not complete without your opportunity to respond!
Many of us have shared faithful conversations over the last few weeks. Now is the time
for all of us to make our commitments and turn in our responses. The goal is for our
pledge cards to be returned to the church by Wednesday, April 8. Simply put them in the
mail or place them in the offering plates. While it will not be possible to have all cards in
by then (and we know that a few people are unable to contribute), we certainly want to
include your gift. On Sunday, April 12, we will celebrate our collective commitment at
Jazz Sunday—both services on that Sunday will be at the Grissom Campus, with Lunch on
the Lawn at noon. Come casually dressed and prepare to celebrate with your church
family!!
Please know how grateful we are for your generosity. My plan is that when the dust settles
on this campaign, I will take time to sign a personal letter to each person and family who was
able to make a financial commitment. For now, simply be assured that your faithful efforts
are greatly appreciated!
Peace,
John
P. S. As you make your plans for Holy Week that is now upon us, please note our multiple
worship services. On Maundy Thursday, April 2, we will have our normal service for Early Sabbath
(6:00) AND our special musical presentation at the Kings Sanctuary (7:30). Both services will have
communion. On Easter morning, April 5, we will have three opportunities for worship- 8:30, 9:45 &
11:00. Please come to the earliest service that fits your Easter schedule. Thanks!

Choristers Receive Crosses
In September, each first year participant in the Chorister Choir was given a set of goals
for the year; standards set in conjunction with the Choristers Guild, an international,
interdenominational organization, unifying our choristers with other children singing
in choirs around the world. In addition to learning what it means to be a musical leader
in worship as well as an active participant in rehearsals, we spend time exploring the
hymnal, developing our singing voices, and learning the “theory” of music. The first year in this choir
is only the beginning of building a greater understanding of musical skills necessary for reading
music. Belonging to a choir is a time when we learn what it means to be a steward; giving of our time
and sharing our talents. We learn a life long lesson of commitment! At the end of our choir season, a
pewter cross was presented to the following children and will be worn each time they lead us in
worship:
Eleanor Brown
Cassidi Stake
Lily DuBose
Aidan Walker
Maddie Mayhew
Lindsey Watson
Campbell Pruett
Ava Wilson

Merciful God, as we enter this Holy Week, solemnly gathering at your house of prayer, we turn our
hearts toward Jerusalem, to the peace demonstrated for us and offered to us in the words and deeds, in
the suffering and death of your anointed One. Forgive our stubborn resistance to work and witness;
impel us by your Spirit to follow in his way, until we enter with him into the city not made by human

CONGREGATIONAL RESPONSE
“Jesus Paid It All”
Hall, Nifong, Grape
I hear the Savior say, “Thy strength indeed is small.
Child of weakness, watch and pray, find in me thine all in all.”
Jesus paid it all, all to him I owe.
Sin had left a crimson stain; he washed it white as snow.
And when before the throne I stand in him complete.
Jesus died my soul to save; my lips shall still repeat:
Jesus paid it all; all to him I owe.
Sin had left a crimson stain; He washed it white as snow.
He washed it white as snow. He washed it white as snow.
THE PEACE (Please pass the peace of Christ to those around you.)
THE WORD
PRAYER FOR ILLUMINATION (unison)
Merciful God, as we enter Holy week turn our hearts again to Jerusalem, and to the life, death,
and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Stir up within us the gift of faith that we may not only praise
him with our lips, but may follow him in the way of the cross. Amen.

SCRIPTURE LESSON
Mark 11:1-11
When they were approaching Jerusalem, at Bethphage and Bethany, near the Mount of Olives, he sent two of his disciples and
said to them, “Go into the village ahead of you, and immediately as you enter it, you will find tied there a colt that has never
been ridden; untie it and bring it. If anyone says to you, ‘Why are you doing this?’ just say this, ‘The Lord needs it and will
send it back here immediately.’” They went away and found a colt tied near a door, outside in the street. As they were untying
it, some of the bystanders said to them, “What are you doing, untying the colt?” They told them what Jesus had said; and they
allowed them to take it. Then they brought the colt to Jesus and threw their cloaks on it; and he sat on it. Many people spread
their cloaks on the road, and others spread leafy branches that they had cut in the fields. Then those who went ahead and those
who followed were shouting, “Hosanna! Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord! Blessed is the coming kingdom
of our ancestor David! Hosanna in the highest heaven!” Then he entered Jerusalem and went into the temple; and when he
had looked around at everything, as it was already late, he went out to Bethany with the twelve.

Lord’s Prayer
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory
for ever. Amen

*AFFIRMATION OF FAITH: NICENE CREED (UNISON)
We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen
and unseen.
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God
from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the
Father; through him all things were made. For us and for our salvation he came down from
heaven, was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary and became truly human. For our
sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered death and was buried. On the third day he
rose again in accordance with the Scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is seated on the right
hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his
kingdom will have no end.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the
Son, who with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified, who has spoken through the
prophets. We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism
for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to
come. Amen.
*SENDING SONG
“In Christ Alone”
Keith Getty & Stuart Townend
In Christ alone my hope is found, he is my light, my strength, my song;
This Cornerstone, this solid ground, firm through the fiercest drought and storm.
What heights of love, what depths of peace, when fears are stilled, when strivings cease.
My comforter, my all in all, here in the love of Christ I stand.
In Christ alone who took on flesh, fullness of God in helpless babe;
This gift of love and righteousness scorned by the ones he came to save.
‘Till on that cross as Jesus died, the wrath of God was satisfied.
For every sin on him was laid; here in the death of Christ I live!
There in the ground, his body lay; light of the world by darkness slain.
Then bursting forth in glorious day, up from the grave he rose again.
And as he stands in victory, sin’s curse has lost its grip on me.
For I am his, and he is mine, here in the risen Christ I live!
23
No guilt in life, no fear in death, this is the power of Christ in me;
From life’s first cry to final breath, Jesus commands my destiny.
No power of hell, no human plan, can ever pluck me from his hand;
‘Til he returns or calls me home, here in the power of Christ I’ll stand!
On Christ, the Solid Rock, I stand; All other ground is sinking sand,
All other ground is sinking sand.
