1. What is the difference between an AQ
& an ABQ course?
• AQ = Additional Qualification Courses
Teachers take AQ courses to gain
more knowledge in a subject area
(e.g., Special Education, ESL)

ABQ = Additional Basic Qualification Courses
Teachers take ABQ courses to qualify
to teach in additional divisions or grades
(e.g., Junior ABQ course – grades 4 to 6)
2. What kinds of courses are offered?
