Forms are due by April 10 to Mr. Tomtishen. The boys’ Track and Field team defeated Tamaqua Area yesterday, 80 to 70. First place winners were: Kris Karlonis in the 110 hurdles, Elliot Clark in the 110 meter dash, Jonathan Smith in the 1600 meter, Mason Geary in the javelin, Pat Gownley in the 300 meter hurdles, Chris McCormick in the 3200 meters. Bobby Wagner won the long jump, triple jump and high jump while the team of Kris Karlonis, Elliot Clark, Ryan Mazeika, and Pat Gownley won the 4 by 1. On the girls’ side, Aspyn Hummel won the shot put, Carly Gregas won the high jump and triple jump, and Heather Skinner won the 110 hurdles. The Jr. High Track and Field team will host Pottsville Area today at 3:45PM. The Lady Spartan Softball team opened their season with an 11 to 1 win over Danville. Rachel Gricoski had a 2 run homer and a double, knocking in 3 runs in the win. Haley Burd threw a one hitter, striking out 9 batters, and helped herself at the plate with a 2 run homer. Tiffany Lapotsky scored 3 runs and stole 5 bases for the Lady Spartans. The Varsity Baseball and Softball teams travel t Tamaqua Area today. Game time is 4:00PM (dismiss 2PM).
