West Kendall Baptist Hospital
West Kendall Baptist Hospital, an academic facility affiliated with
Florida International University’s Herbert Wertheim College of
Medicine, opened in 2011 and houses Baptist Health’s first
residency program for doctors in training at Baptist Health
Primary Care Family Medicine Center.

Medical Plazas and outpatient facilities provide cutting-edge

Miami Cardiac & Vascular Institute
Building upon more than 50 years of experience and a longstanding reputation for
quality care, Baptist Health has integrated heart and vascular services to ensure
seamless patient care at all of its hospitals and outpatient facilities. A $100 million
expansion project is underway on the Baptist Hospital campus. Under the name
Miami Cardiac & Vascular Institute, the systemwide integration leverages the power
of Baptist Health’s combined resources of internationally renowned physicians,
pioneering research, compassionate caregivers and leading-edge treatments and
technology. The expansion will transform the Institute and reinforce our commitment
to provide the most advanced heart and vascular care to South Florida and beyond.
Miami Cancer Institute
Scheduled to open in 2016, the $430 million
Miami Cancer Institute will include expansive
clinical treatment areas, a dedicated research
facility, an inpatient floor designed especially for
cancer patients and medical offices for cancer
specialists. Miami Cancer Institute will be the first
in South Florida — and among only a handful
in the nation — to offer proton therapy, an
advanced treatment that beams radiation
directly to the tumor to destroy cancer cells
while avoiding healthy tissue. The Institute will
provide patients with access to sophisticated,
groundbreaking treatments and cutting-edge
clinical trials, transforming cancer care throughout
the region.
Our Commitment to Excellence
Centers of Excellence within Baptist Health include the
internationally renowned Miami Cardiac & Vascular Institute,
Miami Orthopedics & Sports Medicine Institute, Baptist
Health Neuroscience Center, Center for Robotic Surgery,
Baptist Health Breast Center and the Center for Prevention
& Wellness. Construction is underway on Miami Cancer
Institute, a state-of-the-art facility that will combine
innovative cancer care and the latest in clinical research.
The eICU and Telehealth programs provide electronic
monitoring for patients and technology platforms for the
most-advanced care. Physician leaders of the centers work
closely with Baptist Health Medical Group to develop
and share best practices and advanced treatments and
improve patient care.
