Dear Parents/Guardians,
One of our teaching and learning goals for this year has been our continued focus on classroom walkthroughs and lesson
observations. The primary purpose of these observations and walkthroughs is to acknowledge the great teaching practice
that is occurring within our classrooms and to develop the mindset of regular reflection of our practice in the light of key
questions: What we are doing well? and What can we do even better? By identifying, acknowledging and reflecting on
our practice, we see that there is a direct flow on effect to the students, as they become more reflective and engaged
learners.
Throughout the term, the teachers have been regularly observed within their Literacy blocks and have been provided with
coaching and feedback around key areas from the Leadership team and CEO staff. The teachers have been extremely
dedicated and open to the entire process and they are to be commended on their efforts.
This process will continue into the following terms with the focus being on the teachers coaching and observing each
other. This will lead to us developing further as a staff that; mutually supports one another, provides open and honest
feedback and is engaged in continual improvement through reflection.
As this is our last official newsletter for the term, I would like to thank our volunteers and parent helpers for their
assistance this term and we look forward to seeing you again next term. I hope that you all have a happy and holy Easter
period and come back refreshed for an exciting Term 2.
Kind Regards
Luke Barrett

REFLECTION OF THE WEEK
From the APRE
Thank you to everyone for their support of Fish Friday. We have had an excellent response and I am sure this will be a
very successful fundraiser for Project Compassion. The great news is that following the heartbreaking news of Vanuatu
and their devastation, Caritas Australia is working with Caritas Oceania and the Caritas Internationalist network to support
the Diocese of Port Vila in its disaster response efforts. In addition, they have deployed a staff member to assist Bishop
Bosco with the coordination of the humanitarian relief efforts on the ground.
The Australian Catholic community has responded with generosity and so too has the international Caritas network with
many offering significant financial pledges. This support enables Caritas to respond to immediate needs such as, food,
water and shelter, and to help rebuild homes, communities and livelihoods. The support Caritas receives through Project
Compassion helps them deliver their vital long-term development programs, respond to emergencies and build the
resilience of communities, like those in Vanuatu, to future disasters.
Therefore, our Fish Friday will support the communities in Vanuatu!! We thank you all.
Congratulations to the students who made their First Reconciliation today.
All classes, led by their teachers, have re-enacted and acknowledged the 14 stations in the 14 days leading up to Easter.
This will familiarise students with the Stations of the Cross in preparation for Easter. St Joseph’s School community will
gather together with Fr Thomas and Year 5/6 for a prayerful Easter Liturgy on Thurs. 2nd April at 1:45pm. All welcome!!
God Bless,
Kristy Cameron
