General Guidelines
Objectives:
Entry Round
 Encourage students to explore their
knowledge in various disciplines of business.
 Build self- esteem.
 Empower students to use their knowledge &
learning regarding past, present & future
trends in business.
 Motivate students towards full development
of their potentials in enhancing their
knowledge
 While having fun in learning.
 Each team will be given a set of question paper
containing 30 multiple choice objective questions.
 Time limit-15 minutes.
 In case of tie between 2 or more teams, further 5
questions will be asked for final selection.
 Only 6 Teams would be selected for STAGE
ROUNDS.
Guidelines:




Only registered teams are eligible.
A team shall consist of 2-3 students.
Quiz Master’s decision will be final.
Use of mobile or other electronic gadgets are
not allowed.
 Replacement of any participants of a team is
not allowed after registration
 Prelims are open to all.
 Only 6 teams will be going to the finals
Round 1: Questionnaire Round
 Each team will be asked 3 questions each.
 For correct answer 10 marks will be given.
 Passing of the question to the next team is allowed.
Five marks will be given to the next team if the answer
is correct.
 30 seconds are allowed for answering each question.
 No negative marking.
Round 2: Find the LOGO
 A question will be asked & the team who presses the
buzzer first will answer first.
 10 marks for the correct answer.
 Minus 5 marks for the wrong answer or if the team
doesn’t answer after pressing the buzzer.
 No forwarding
 30 seconds are allowed for answering each question.
Round 3: Company’s TAGLINE
 Teams will be shown clips and will have to answer.
 Each team will be asked 2 audio-visual questions.
 10 marks for correct answer and minus 5 for wrong
answer.
 No passing
 30 seconds are allowed for answering each question.
Round 4: Rapid fire




1 minute for each team to answer 10 questions.
Each question carries 10 marks.
5 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.
If a team cannot answer the question, they can say pass
for the next question.
 The question will not be forwarded to next team.
ADZAP
General Guidelines
Objectives:
 Bring out the creativity, time management, marketing skills of the innovative minds.
 Shape their team spirit and co-ordination.
 Explores entrepreneurial skills of the participants.
Guidelines:






Maximum of 5 members per team is allowed.
Participants are given slots on first come first serve basis.
Teams can choose their product/service/solution/event for ADZAP for prelims
Participants in the final round will be given a dedicated product/service/solution/event by the judges
Two minutes will be given to the teams for the final round preparation
The performance is judged based on the clarity in thought, innovativeness, and humor, reduction of cost, team
co-ordination and expression.
 Decision of judges is final
 There should not be any imitation or insulting of any person or object or company during the ADZAP
 Native language can be used if it is more appropriate
Just A Minute
General Guidelines
Objective:

To evaluate the control of the mind over the mouth
Guidelines:
 Prelims are open to all.
 Only 10 participants will be going to the finals.
 The JAM master is god. No questions or arguments once the final decision has been made. To object, slam the
table and say “JAM”. The JAM master decides when you are allowed to put forth your objection. You get a
penalty if the competition objects on any of the following count.
You object out of turn. You stutter, stammer, and generally indulge in “time-wasting tactics”. These
include efforts to buy time like interspersing your talk with “uhh”, “aah” etc...
Early start and late start.
Speaking too fast or too slow.
Grammatical errors.
Undue stress on words, undue emphasis in the sentences.
Repetition of a previously used idea.
Not following the “random rules” as set by the JAM master. For example, the most popular random rule
was “Praise Guntas before objecting”. If you forget to do so or the JAM master thinks that the praise was
not good enough, you will not be allowed to object and lose points for an incorrect/bad objection.
 Total time is sixty seconds, inclusive of all the time that all the speakers in a given round are allowed to speak.
 Points are given in the following manner:
a. Positive points for every second that you speak
b. Positive points for every correct objection
c. Negative points for every incorrect objection
d. Bonus points for being the last speaker
 Winner is the person with the maximum number of points at the end of the round.
Debate
General Guidelines
Objective:
 To evaluate the knowledge of a participant on the particular topic.
 To watch how effectively the participant presents her/his points.
Guidelines:
 The topic is: Smart Manager vs. Aggressive Leader
 Prelims are open to all.
 Only 10 participants will be going to the finals. (5 for each)
Role Play
General Guidelines
Objective:
 To observe spontaneity of the participant
Guidelines:






Prelims are open to all.
Only 10 participates will be going to the finals.
Each participant will be given two roles to play.
Among the team members, only one can participate.
Should not deviate from the role given to you.
Each team could be given 6-8 minutes time for role play at every level.
Business Plan
General Guidelines
Objective:
 To understand the basic concepts of doing a business
 To induce participants to generate new ideas.
Guidelines:
 Prelims are open to all.
 Only 10 teams will be going to the finals.
 Team Size
Team size is reduced to 3, in order to make each individual contribute towards preparing & presenting a plan
in an effective manner.
 Business plan reporting
Written plan as per the format prescribed only (<2000 words)
Presentation (<20 slides)
1 printed copy & electronic file of plan in pdf format
 Company Choosing
The teams are asked to choose a company which was started and currently existing in India for more than 3
years.
The company should fall under any of the following sectors – Automobile Retail & E-Commerce, Agrobased, IT, FMCG, Food, Travel, Pharma, Environment
The company should be active and doing business
 Presentation Format
Team should mention the company name and its sector.
Brief about the founders and management team.
Consider them as one of the management team & mention about their contribution to the management team.
List the company’s offering in terms of products and services.
Explain one key product/service in detail; speak about who are the customers for that product and what
benefits it provides.
Mention about the various marketing channels used by the company? How did the company get its initial
customers to use the product?
Brief why your potential customers would choose the product/service? Is there a need for the product?
Mention about the competitors and how they are they different from their competitors
If given a chance to start a company on their own, what product will they come up with? Brief about the
solutions that they are going to provide for the problem identified from any sector
Market need/gap (team must be aware of its strengths and weakness through internal and external analysis
and look for market opportunities).
Company offerings (team must analyze its product and services from the viewpoint of the customer-outside
in thinking. What is the customer looking for and what benefits does the customer want. The business must
gain knowledge of the marketplace from its customer)
Target market (team should analyze its target markets).
Marketing strategies (the team should frame its marketing /sales tactics that will allow it to achieve or
surpass its goals).
Unique selling proposition (what is unique about your product and why should anybody try using it?)
Competitive analysis (the team should know its competition, current and potential. By identifying the
competitor’s strengths and weaknesses the business can improve its position in the marketplace)

Objective:
 To observe the movie making skill of the participant team
 Account team work and persuasion via movie
Guidelines:




The maximum time duration of the film should be 6 minutes.
Max team size is 3 persons.
Prelims are open to all.
Only 6 teams will be going to the finals to show case their short film.
Namma Bazaar
General Guidelines
Objective:
 To develop an entrepreneurial spirit amongst students.
 Giving them first-hand experience on what it’s like to start a business.
 Giving them opportunities to plan-execute-and market their business strategies.
Guidelines:





A maximum of 5 participants will be allowed per team.
A team has the freedom to select whichever type of business he desires.
A team will need to submit a total inventory and accounts record at the end of each day.
There will be no registration fee.
Additionally each team will also have to pay a sum of Rs. 150/day/ stall.
Treasure Hunt
General Guidelines
Objective:
 To develop a sense of leadership and team sprit amongst participants.
 Participants will require to use their communicative skill set in order to achieve a goal.
 The joint effort will encourage individuals to work together as team towards their target.
Guidelines:
 Each team will comprise of a maximum of 5 members.
 The teams will be given a set of clues to decipher and no change of clues will be permitted.
 Malpractice will result in immediate disqualification.
 All the goals must be achieved before the stipulated time period.
Games and E-Games
General Guidelines
Objective:
 This event is meant to entertain the people in the events.
Guidelines:
 Games section will remain closed during class hours.
 Games will cost between – Rs 10-20 for physical games.
 Similarly E-games will cost Rs. 30 per game.
 Tournaments arranged will have a registration fee depending on the game and the number of players available.
 Players registered in tournaments will avail 2 games of their choice free of cost.
Cookery Competition
General Guidelines
Objective:
 To allow students and staff to be able to market themselves in a good manner.
 To be able to test their cooking as well as their presentation skills.
Guidelines:






Each team will have min. 4 members and have to bring their own ingredients.
All the cooked food must have some cultural heritage, which must be explained by the participants.
NO FAST FOOD ALLOWED.
All foods must be cooked on the spot.
Any team caught bringing food from outside will be disqualified immediately.
The judges’ decision will be final.
Talent Hunt
General Guidelines
Objective:
 To provide a platform for students and staff alike to showcase their talents in various fields.
Guidelines:
 Talents across all disciplines will be accepted and evaluated independently.
 Judging will be based purely on the concept and the execution of the plan.
 Judges decision will be final.
 Each participant will be provided a maximum of 3 minutes to showcase their talents.

Guidelines:
 Participants have to bring their own camera.
 The concept will be given at the event location.
 A maximum period of 1 hour will be provided to click the picture.
