Minnesota netted three third period goals en route to a 4-2 victory over Calgary on Friday night in front of a sellout crowd of 19,040 at Xcel Energy
Center. D Matt Dumba, LW Thomas Vanek, C Mikko Koivu and LW Zach Parise each scored for the Wild. G Devan Dubnyk made 23 saves. Next
up, Minnesota completes its final set of back-to-back games this month with the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. CT on FOX Sports North
(locally), NHL Network (nationally) and KFAN 100.3 FM.
Minnesota has sold out all 37 home games this season and 68 straight games, including last year’s playoff games. The Wild has points in 26-of-37 (70.3%)
games at Xcel Energy Center this season (21-11-5), including 10 wins in the last 14 home games. Minnesota leads the NHL with a 25-6-2 record since
Jan. 15 and has an NHL-best 47 points (23-5-1) in 29 games since the All-Star Break. The Wild also leads the NHL with 100 goals since Jan. 15 and with
26 third-period goals since Feb. 22.
LW Zach Parise recorded the Wild’s fourth goal of the game, netting his 30th goal of the season – sixth time in his career he has hit the 30-goal mark in a
single season. He becomes the fourth Wild player to score 30 goals in a season joining Marian Gaborik (5x), Brian Rolston (3x) and Jason Pominville. He
has 12 points (5-7=12) in his last 11 games. He leads Minnesota in goals (30), points (58), PPG (9) and shots (238) this season. His 30 goals rank 10th
amongst all NHL players this year.
LW Thomas Vanek registered the Wild’s second goal, recording his 20th goal of the season – a mark he has now hit in all of his 10 NHL seasons. He has
11 points (7-4=11) in the last 10 games and ranks second on the Wild with 50 points (20-30=50) in his first season with Minnesota.
D Matt Dumba netted the Wild’s first goal, his second power-play goal of the season which sets a career high. He has three points (2-1=3) in his last six
games and owns 13 points (8-5=13) in 51 matches this season. He ranks third amongst NHL rookie defensemen in goals and sixth in points.
C Mikael Granlund recorded the primary assist on Dumba’s goal. He has four helpers in the last five games and 10 points (1-9=10) in his last 14
matches. He has 34 points (7-27=34) in 61 games this season.
D Jared Spurgeon tallied the secondary assist on Dumba’s goal. He has five points (2-3=5) in 10 games since returning from injury. He has 23 points (914=23) in 60 games this season and now sits at 99 career NHL points. He leads the Wild with 118 blocked shots.
RW Justin Fontaine registered the first assist on Vanek’s goal. He has five points (1-4=5) in his last four games and 16 points (5-11=16) in the last 20
games. He has a career high in points (29) and assists (20) this season.
C Charlie Coyle earned the secondary assist on Vanek’s goal. He has nine points (4-5=9) in his last 11 games and 35 points (11-24=35) in 75 games this
season.
C Mikko Koivu netted the Wild’s third goal of the game, totaling 18 points (5-13=18) in his last 26 games. He has 44 points (12-32=44) in 75 games this
season, ranking fourth on the team.
RW Chris Stewart netted an assist on Koivu’s goal. He has seven points (3-4=7) in 13 games with Minnesota. He has 32 points (14-18=32) in 74 contests
this year.
D Jonas Brodin tallied the second assist on Koivu’s goal. He owns 17 points (3-14=17) in 64 games this season. He leads the Wild with a plus-22 rating,
ranking T-3rd amongst NHL defensemen.
G Devan Dubnyk moves to 25-6-1 with a 1.72 GAA, a .938 SV% and five shutouts in 33 starts with Minnesota. Overall, he ranks second in the NHL in
GAA (2.07) and in SV% (.930) and T-4th in shutouts (6) in his 52 games (49 starts) this season.
C Josh Jooris and C Markus Granlund scored for Calgary. G Karri Ramo stopped 31-of-35 in 51:46 of play while G Jonas Hiller made one save in
relief.
