Unitarian Universalists are no strangers to laying it all on the line. In 2015, our first year in our interim period, it’s
especially appropriate that we SHOOT FOR THE MOON. This fun, fundraising auction event will help set the
trajectory toward our new settled minister and the next phase for the First Universalist Unitarian Church.
Please join us on Saturday, April 11, 2015, for a STELLAR experience. Bid on cool stuff, listen to live music in
multiple venues, chat with old friends, meet new friends, eat, drink, dance, and buy your way to a full social
calendar — all while helping the church financially!
WHEN: 6:30 to 9:00 PM — and beyond, Saturday April 11, 2015 (It only happens once every two years!)
WHERE: First Universalist Unitarian Church, 504 Grant Street, Wausau, WI
COST: $20 in advance, $25 at the door. Includes hearty hors d’oeuvres and soft drinks. Cash beer & wine bar.
WHY: Fun, fellowship, and to give our little astronaut buddy a name… Okay, and for money.
HOW: Same as 2013 — No checkbook required on the night of the auction. We send you an e-mail invoice and
remind you of all the services you won and their dates. You take home any goods you win that night.
Please look through this catalog and be ready to bid ‘til you drop. We will still take donations up to the week
before the event.
Anyone can submit Absentee Silent Bids via e-mail until April 10, 2015 ([email protected]). People
attending the auction will have the final bidding opportunity, although feel free to arrange for an auctionattending friend to serve as your proxy according to your instructions.
You can buy your tickets in the atrium each Sunday through April 5th ($20) or at the door on April 11th ($25).

WEEK-LONG CABIN RETREAT — LONG LAKE
Enjoy the use of a one-bedroom, one-bath cabin overlooking beautiful
Long Lake, donated by the Berges. The cabin is located in Bayfield
County 25 miles west of Ashland. This small cabin offering is for adults
only, as it has a series of steps leading down to a natural
waterfront. There is a deck overlooking the lake, a dock with a place to
sit and watch wildlife, and the use of Berge’s canoe is also included.
Their cabin is available for either the week of May 30–June 6 or the week of August 29–September 5.

WEEKEND COTTAGE RETREAT — SEVEN ISLAND LAKE
While away the hours at the Seven Island Lake in Harrison Hills (approximately 20 miles northeast of
Merrill; off of Hwy 17). Canoes and kayaks are available. It’s a great lake for quiet water boating, with 6
islands to explore (one can be camped on). The area is also great for biking. There is 1 queen bed in the
loft, 1 double bedroom in the newly remodeled walkout basement, and a bunk bed and double futon
in the common area of the basement. Enjoy the beautiful secluded woods and 138-acre lake from 3
decks. The cottage is best suited for 1 family or 2-3 couples who don't mind being cozy and sharing one

WEEKEND STAY AT CONDOMINIUM — LAKE MILDRED
Spend the weekend of September 11, 12, and 13 at this 3-bedroom condo (sleeps 6) located on Lake
Mildred about 10 miles north of Rhinelander off of Highway 47 (it’s an easy 1.25-hour drive from most
Wausau locations). It is located on a beautiful 200-acre lake with access to a beach and 500 feet of
shared lake frontage. You can bring your own boat and keep it at their landing, and there is access to a
canoe and kayaks. The lake is great for swimming and boating, plus the beach area has wonderful
sunsets and is great place to relax. Rhinelander is very close if you need something, and there are many
very nice restaurants near the cottage in the Rhinelander or Minocqua area. There is also great biking
right outside the door, and the Bearskin Trail is about 10 miles away. There is very good walking near
the cottage on lake roads, including two hiking areas within 15 minutes of the cottage. It’s a great place
for young and old to enjoy themselves in the Northwoods. One caveat—no pets allowed. Donated by

ROARING 20s MEAL IN A MANSION
Gangsters and molls will need to check their Thompson machine guns and other hardware at the door
for this bullet-proof 1920s dinner in the speakeasy known as the Stewart Inn. There will be copious
liquid refreshments of the time, which means you can count on an assortment of finger foods for your
free hand. In honor of the Italian rage, fettucine alfredo al dente will be center stage, complemented
by spring mixed greens and mandarin orange segments with the house herbed olive oil and balsamic
dressing, seasonal vegetables, fresh fruit cocktail (a 20s favorite), and the Inn’s own oven-baked bread.
The 20s advent of freezers popularized sorbets and parfaits, so expect a sampling. “Let them eat cake,”
also applied to the 20s, as did fruit in multiple forms, so the meal will be topped off with a heavenly
lemon cake (no gun-play needed to take you there). The select mob of 8 is gathering on Friday, May 1,
