From Our Director
We are in the home stretch of AARP Tax Season! Our volunteer tax preparers
are probably breathing sighs of relief. The services provided through this
program allow hundreds of low income older adults to have taxes completed at no
cost to them. We so appreciate the commitment and dedication of these
volunteers, many who return year after year.
The White House Conference on Aging (WHCOA) is held every 10 years and
serves as a catalyst for the development of aging policy for the coming years. The
2015 conference will focus on four key issues. This year, Cleveland was chosen
as a site for one of five regional forums. Although attendance is by invitation only
Mayfield Hts. Outreach (9:00-5:00)
for the April 27 event, the forum is expected to be available by webcast. There will
440-442-2628
also be several local events occurring around the same time, focusing on the
Lunch & Programming (9:00-3:00)
WHCOA key issues. For up-to-date details, follow CPA on Facebook, at
216-650-4029
www.facebook.com/communitypartnershiponaging, or visit the WHCOA website

Volunteers Needed!
Join us for an informative panel discussion
which will include a representative from each of
the five city governments we serve as well as
Stacey O’Brien, Community Partnership on
Aging. Panelists will discuss how their cities
address the needs of older adults with particular
disabilities. You will also have a chance to ask
these city officials questions as part of the
program
Individuals, families, and groups are needed to
conduct our annual spring yard cleanups. This
service is offered to older adults in our five-city area.
You can choose your own date and time to
volunteer during the month of April or May. It’s a
great way to give service and have fun at the same
time!
Just in time for Earth Month! If you are creative
and computer-savvy, our Creative Paper
Recycling group could use your volunteer
assistance. A “manager” is needed who could
market their wonderful products, manage inventory
and sales, and devise ways in which the group
could become more productive. Familiarity with
computer sites such as Etsy and basic knowledge of
Excel is needed. Flexible volunteer hours are a
bonus, and some volunteer work can be done from
home.
To register, please call 216-291-3902.

who will be really happy are those who will
