4 Seasons Hoops Tournament Rules
Game Rules:






















PIAA High School Rules apply (unless otherwise noted)
Game time is game time. You will be given a five minute grace period. If your team is not ready to play by that time,
the game will be a forfeit. Winning team will be given the 15 point max.
The first team listed is HOME and wears white uniform
Boys grades 3-6 will use a 28.5 sized ball
Boys grades 7 and up will use a 29.5 sized ball (full size)
A team may start and finish a game with less than 5 players
Coaches are allowed to stand
Half-time is 2 minutes
Warm-ups are 4 minutes
NO DUNKING ALLOWED OUTSIDE OF GAME TIME! This includes warm-ups and half-time. The site director and/or
game officials may assess one technical foul for each and every violation of this rule. If violation occurs after a game,
technical foul will be administered before start of next game.
Regulation foul line to be utilized. (Only grades 3-4 may jump over the line)
Lane entry on free throws is allowed after the release
1 & 1 Bonus on 8th team foul of half. Double bonus begins on the 11th foul
Players foul out on 5th personal foul or two technical fouls
Teams are given 3 (45 second) timeouts per game and can be used at anytime. (These do not carry over into
overtime)
Teams are given 1 timeout per overtime session.
The first overtime period is 2 minutes, any additional overtime periods are 1 minute each.
Mercy Rule: Clock will remain running if a team is up by 30 points at any point in the first half and 20 points at any
point in the 2nd half. Clock will stop if team gets under that mark.
Teams that are up by 20 points at any given point in the game may not run Press Defenses.
Any athletes suffering from head injuries will be removed from play until cleared by a certified medical physician
We do not provide medical trainers or medical supplies
Both teams must provide a scorekeeper
Game Lengths:


Grades 3-8
Grades 9-12
14 Minute Halves (stopped clock)
16 Minute Halves (stopped clock)
Tie-breaker Rules:




1- Head to Head
2- Plus/minus (15 point max per game)
3- Least amount of points given up
4) Coin Flip
Conduct:





Players are not permitted to play for 2 teams in the same grade division. No exceptions!
A player MAY play in 2 separate grade divisions if they meet the requirements of both.
Officials and/or Tournament Director(s) reserve the right to remove any coach, player, and/or spectator who displays
inappropriate behavior
Anyone who refuses to leave when asked will result in their team forfeiting the game. If a player(s) engage in fighting,
an immediate ejection can/will follow. An ejection will cause suspension for the players/spectators/coaches involved
for the remainder of the tournament. The suspended parties then cannot participate in any more games for the
remainder of the weekend as a player, coach or spectator. With regards to the suspended individuals if a second
instance of player misconduct follows anywhere inside an event facility, the tournament director has the authority to
eject the whole team.
Any player or coach ejected from a game must sit the entire next game as well
