Hi All,
Pre-Easter training is starting next week. There are three high quality
training opportunities before we go to Jamestown for the Easter
Carnival. It is also good for people who like to train for to better
performance during the main season which is also starting very soon. It will
be technical training to assist your map reading skills with a special training
map for advanced runners. Here is some information:
You must book on doodle at least 36 hrs ahead in order to be sure there is a
map there. If you book less than 36 hrs ahead hopefully I will have a map.

PET 1, Wednesday 18.3.2015 5.00PM, Stromlo West
Arrive: Between 5.00pm and 5:30pm (note it will get dark early, sunset will be about 7.15)
Location:
Mt Stromlo West, Uriarra Rd, Parking will be marked with an orienteering
flag.
Courses:
Beginner (~3k), Moderate (~4k) and Advanced with short cut possibility (~6k)
Training focus: Long legs with compass

PET 2, Wednesday 25.3.2015 5.00PM, Cooleman Ridge
Arrive:
Between 5.00pm and 5:30pm (note it will get dark early)
Location:
Cooleman Ridge, Namatjira Dr (350m after Kapunda St junction to south),
Parking will be marked with an orienteering flag.
Courses:
Beginner (~3k), Moderate (~4k) and Advanced with short cut possibility (~6k)
Training focus: Simplification - Map memorizing

Location:
Drive from Bungendore along the Kings Hwy for approx. 13k. Then turn left
(marked with an orienteering flag). Follow dirt road for another 1k to get to
Timber Tops assembly area.
Courses:
Beginner (~3k), Moderate (~4k) and Advanced with short cut possibility (~6k)
Training focus: Coarse – fine and compass (Swiss - cheese training)
