“Mega project : 90% in service”
 Utilities in operation
 Ethane cracker commercial operation started in June ‘14
 Marine Facilities completed and in service
 1st Borstar plant
in service since July ‘14.
 2nd & 3rd Borstar plant in service since December ‘14
 New
LDPE plant and 4th Borstar plant in service since April ‘15
 XLPE is expected to be complete by the end of the year.
 Full capability testing and ramping-up ongoing

Challenges faced during execution
 Schedule alignment between major contracts and projects
 Aggressive bidding climate which could endanger project success.
 Manning-up & preparing the start-up team.
 Preservation of Pre-commissioned equipments
 Ramping-up alignment with (new) feedstock supply
 Any issue resolved with excellent cross functional cooperation.

Main Features
 Potential for future XLPE expansion is foreseen.
 Links to B1/B2 for exchange of utilities and hydrocarbons to maximize operational
flexibility and flaring reduction.
 Marine Facilities for product export will see the current Borouge Port expanded to
accommodate increased shipping capacity.
 Increased use of PP and HDPE Piping Material for Seawater Intake, U/G Cooling
Water and Firewater Systems.
