Program in Social Sciences

Job hunting for the students in my year starts from this year and I am so
excited. I have already been participating in different career development
workshops offered by Nagoya University where I am having the chance
to meet the representatives of prestigious companies. Although the
preparations for future employment and graduation seem so exciting, it is
also very sad to think about leaving the University.

The Nagoya University G30 International Program
introduces internship opportunities at leading Japanese
companies to international students. I never thought
that I would be doing my internship abroad when I was
in Singapore, but studying in Nagoya gives me the
opportunity to do so. I cannot wait to experience a brand
new work culture, and learn about Japanese companies
first hand. I feel excited and fortunate to be able to be a

The Program in Social Sciences is jointly offered by the School of Law and
the School of Economics, in cooperation with the School of Informatics and
Sciences. It includes fundamental disciplines in political science, law, economics,
business administration, and information science. Students are expected to
acquire analytical skills, critical thinking skills and a high ethical awareness, which
are needed for the pursuit of knowledge across disciplines.
Upon selection of their major, students receive specific guidance from professors
in their chosen discipline and are expected to conduct research for their individual
graduation thesis under the supervision of their school’s professors.

Applicants should note that the Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) awarded to graduates
of both the G30 program and the Japanese-taught undergraduate curriculum is
a general humanities degree. Professional qualification in Japan is founded on a
separate postgraduate Law School program leading to the LL.M. degree. Graduates
of the G30 program may apply for admission to any of the several postgraduate
programs taught in English or in Japanese in the Graduate School of Law.
