Peter D. Doherty
ated from Massachusetts Trade

television technician. He later joined the Mass. Registry of
Motor Vehicles where he held
various positions. He was an Inspector, fatal accident investigator and hearings officer. He
also managed the Registry’s
Lawrence office for a number of years. Mr. Doherty retired from service to the commonwealth as a member of
the Mass State Police. Before
moving to Chelmsford, Mr.
Doherty resided in Tewksbury
for over 50 years where he was
an active member of the community. In addition to his loving wife, Veronica, he leaves
his two beloved sons, Jeffrey
and his wife Patricia (St. Peter)

on Monday, May 11, 2015
at Lowell General Hospital. He
was 87. He leaves his loving
wife of 63 years, Veronica (Durant) Doherty. Mr. Doherty was
born in Malden, Mass.on May
7, 1928 to the late Patrick and
Mary Doherty of County Donegal, Ireland. A veteran of WWII,
Mr. Doherty joined the army
after graduating from Malden
High School. He served as a
medic in Japan during the occupation. After an honorable
discharge Mr. Doherty gradu-

Saturday at 10:30 AM at the Funeral Home. Interment will be

Wilmington after a lengthy illness. She was 92. She was born
in Medford, September 17, 1922,
the daughter of the late, Jeremiah J. and Catherine (Hutchinson) McCarthy. She attended
Medford public schools and
was a graduate of Medford High
School, class of 1941. She then
continued her education at the
Manchester Business School in
Boston. Miss McCarthy was employed as a bookkeeper for the
T.R.W. Corporation for over forty-three years, retiring in 1984.
She love traveling and did so
as often as possible, however,
being an aunt to many loving
nieces and nephews, she cherished her time spent with family.She leaves nieces and nephews, Kathleen M. Boland and
her husband Robert, of Marstons Mills, Eileen Shuman and
her husband Richard, of Myrtle
Beach, SC, William J. McCarthy,
of York, ME, Michael J. McCarthy
and his wife, Peggy, of Nashua,

his wife, Sally, of Deerfield, NH,
Lynn and Steven Larrabee, of
CA, John and Lynn Cannon, of
Londonderry, NH, Stephen Cannon, of Woburn, Robert and Beverly Tremblay, of Texas, and Paul

Kathleen Cannon and her husband, James, of Woburn. A memorial service for Miss McCarthy was held on Saturday, May
9 at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, Haverhill.
