Report for a two days workshop on “Electrical machines & Drives” under IE (I) Student Chapter, E.E
A two day’s workshop on “electrical Machines & drives” was organized by IE (I) Student Chapter,
Dept. Of E.E, Asansol Engineering College on 9th and 10th April, 2015.
The chief guest of this workshop was Er. G. Viswanadham, Chairman, IE (I), Asansol Local Centre.
Other distinguish dignitaries who are present was, Prof.(Dr.) M.G.Tiary, Hony.Secretary, IE (I),
Asansol Local Centre, Prof. (Dr.) Rathikanta Sahoo, Principal, AEC, Brig. Balbir Singh, Dean
(Administration), AEC, Dr. G. S. Panda, Registrar, AEC, Dr. Tirtharaj Sen, Advisor, IE (I) Student
Chapter, E.E and Dr. Rajan Sarkar, H.O.D, Electrical Engg.
Nearly three hundred (300) students and faculty members of Electrical Engineering Dept. was present
on the occasion.
Prof. S.K. Biswas, Jadavpur University delivered a lecture on “Principles of Drives” and Mr. Arun
Kumar Singh, Executive Engineer, DVC presented a topic on “Recent advances on thermal power
stations”. Dr. Tirtharaj Sen delivered a lecture on ‘Robotics & Robot Motors”.
The program came to end with the vote of thanks by Dr. Tirtharaj Sen, Advisor, IE (I) Student
Chapter, E.E.
