The rolling countryside and lush pastures of New Zealand provide the
ideal location for natural farm raising of New Zealand cattle. New
Zealand cattle graze year round on lush open pastures and all beef
supplied by AFFCO is 100% GRASS FED.
A combination of New Zealand’s geographic isolation, and strict
quarantine laws, have contributed to the unique disease free status
and unrivalled herd health record. Due to the constant monitoring of
livestock health, strictly controlled import regimes by the Ministry of
Agriculture and Forestry, and the 100% pasture based diet there has
never been a case of Foot and Mouth disease or BSE in New
Zealand.

New Zealand meat production is processed using some of the world’s most sophisticated food safety
systems and supports internationally recognised best practice. New Zealand meat sets world food
safety standards and stands out internationally as being microbiologically very clean.

At each production site, inspectors oversee the treatment of the animals to ensure transportation and
slaughtering procedures are humane. All carcasses are checked to ensure the meat is fit for human
consumption.
