PS 116 • 210 E. 33 ST. • NY, NY • 10016 • www.afterschoolkidsclubs.org
Spring Schedule 2015
Clubs begin Monday, March 30, 2015
To register:
• Online registration begins Wednesday, March 25, at 12 NOON. Please see attached sheet & the website,
www.afterschoolkidsclubs.org, for instructions. Paper registration cards may be turned in starting Thursday
morning, March 26, at drop-off in the schoolyard. After Thursday morning, deposit a completed registration
form and payment in the KidsClubs mailbox in the main office.
• Families who want to apply for a scholarship, request a payment plan, or pay by check or cash, please use a paper
registration form.
• Checks should be made payable to "AfterSchool KidsClubs." Visa and Mastercard are also accepted.
• Processing of registration forms takes 48 hours. We cannot enroll children the same day we receive the registration.
• A KidsClub representative will contact you if there is any problem with your registration.
• Extra registration forms are available on the bulletin board across from the PTA office (Room 116).
• Questions for Sandy Dirkx, Director, may be left in the KidsClubs box in the main office, at 212-685-2480, or sent
to [email protected]. Please don't call the PS116 main office as they don't have KidsClubs information.
• Please indicate on the registration form if you give permission for your child's image to be used on the KidsClubs
website and in brochures. No child will be identified by name.
• Your child will be enrolled in the club of your choice unless the club is full. If so, a representative will contact you.
You may wish to indicate a second-choice club.
KidsClub Basics:
• Clubs run 10 weeks and do not meet on half-days or holidays. Please see attached calendar for dates.
• On days when clubs do not meet but school is in session, AfterSchool KidsClubs provides coverage in the form of
FunClubs. In FunClubs, kids play games, do arts & crafts, and on half-days, have an outing.
• All clubs are limited in size. Each grade has several options. You may wish to indicate a second choice.
• A snack will be provided each afternoon.
• Please be sure your teacher and child are aware of your child's after-school routine.
• AfterSchool KidsClubs, Inc. is a not-for-profit corporation separate from the Dep’t of Education & the PTA of PS 116.
Pick-up & Dismissal:
• K & 1st graders are picked up from teachers at dismissal from school by a KidsClub staffer. 2nd - 5th graders are
expected to join the KidsClub staff promptly in the cafeteria for attendance, snack and to meet club instructors.
• Dismissal for KidsClubs is 5:00 in the cafeteria.
• As part of 116’s security plan, if you need to pick up your child early, you must notify KidsClubs by 1:30 P.M.
that day (by email, voicemail, or note in KidsClubs mailbox). Parents will not be permitted to go to the
KidsClub room; a staffer will bring your child to you.
• Your child's safety is a primary concern. You'll be asked to sign for your child at pick-up and to list everyone
authorized to pick up your child. Please let us know of any changes and absences.
• Avoid late fees by picking up your child on time. There is a $20 fee for late pick-up.
• There is a supervised Late Hour period, from 5:00 – 6:00, for an additional $75 per 10-week session. You must pay
for all 10 weeks; please add $75 to your registration payment.
• The building closes at 6:00 P.M. You must pick up by 6:00 sharp, as no child is permitted to remain in the building
after the safety agent leaves. Kids who are not picked up on time will be escorted to the 17th police precinct.
Payment and Scholarships:
• The cost for each club is $190 per 10-week session, plus a $15 registration fee, $10 usage fee, and any supply fees.
• There is a $100 discount for kids enrolled in 5 clubs a week. If registering online, the program will automatically
deduct the discount. If using a paper form, please deduct the $100 on the registration card.
• Full and partial scholarships are available and are determined by eligibility for free or reduced lunches. Only one
scholarship (for one club) is awarded per child per session. Please indicate on the front of the registration card that
you are applying for a scholarship, and, if you have received your meal-status letter confirming free or reduced
lunch, please attach a copy to your registration card.
• The $15 registration fee, supply fees and Late Hour are not covered by scholarship. These fees are due with the
registration form.
• Payments plans are available upon request. All balances for the session must be paid in full by May 15, 2015.
• Club fees may be tax-deductible as child-care.
